OMG, this video just mind freaked me! It was loading and this sign came up "an error occurred, please try again later." I left the page and suddenly the side pops up again, and the video is playing under the black screen and the text over it, and the video keeps getting clearer and clearer until the screen goes totally black, but the noise is still there!
The page that cris stops at looks like it was close to the beginning of the book like the first 30 or 40 pages, then when chris tells bill that it was page 145, it looked like the page was toward the end of the book. So it was obviously prearranged and Bill Curtis is a good actor.

The beginning part works like Tagged does, basically a word force, working the same as a riffle force does with a deck of cards. If you look closely at the trick, when Criss showed his the first page, it is near the end of the book, but when Bill looked for his page, the book was closer to the end, so he had a trick page in there basically.
Criss would obtain a book with only two real pages.
those two pages would be page 144 and 145.
so every time you flipped a page the next page would be 144 and 145 consecutively. notice how he pinches the pages after he flips through the book? he doesn't want bill to notice this fact.
this is well prearranged. the first sentence is probably a very simple one with very few complicated words. criss asks for a big word and bill will pick the biggest one. easy
can ppl stop telling how the trick is done. i really dont care. if it entertains you and you find out how it is done go tell your friends but dont post them.
I actually agree with Harry Potter. For the vast majority of people, these tricks are ONLY entertaining when they don't know how its done. People who explain these tricks are ruining the enjoyment for many people, just to make themselves look clever to a bunch of virtual youtubers they're never going to meet.
I'm not a magician myself, but i find that most people who don't know maigc tend to come up with complicated explantions of how a trick was done, when usually the answer is really simple.
As stated, in this case, it was a very simple slight of hand, with a little minor preparation beforehand.
That way, Bill Kurtis doesn't have to lie. It would look as real if you were sitting on that couch, as it does to watch it on video. Usually, the more simple the trick part, the more real it seems.
SPOILER ALERT! If you don't want to know how the trick is done, stop reading my post...
So, the answer? Magicians have a slight of hand technique called riffling. When they flip through a book or deck of cards, the magician makes you THINK he stopped where you said to. That's the illusion. Also, you will see that the two times Criss opens to 145, they are at different places in the book. Ripped page was done ahead of time. It's great close-up magic that does not any additional video tricks.
Other things to notice: Criss Angel starts with the book in HIS hands. He didn't take it from Bill Kurtis. HE'S the one stopping at the page, NOT Kurtis. And as far as Kurtis choosing the right word, notice that CA says to "choose a fairly long one." Wouldn't it be easy for CA to find a page & line that had only ONE or TWO words that were longer than others? Asking Kurtis if there was an "n" is the clue he needed to say the right one. Wow!
PART 2: There's a psychological aspect too. When you do the trick with a famous personality, your attention tends to be more on him or her than a Joe Schmoe. You're watching his or her actions and reactions rather than the slight of hand.
I loved those shows years ago that exposed magicians' secrets. One thing that I thought was brilliant: the use of TWINS for disappearing acts!!!!

maybe, the book is like, in two halves, both with page 145 and say, 100 pages before and after. When criss hands it to him first, he opens it almost directly to the 2nd 145; and the second 145 is torn out before, and mailed to him. When he tries to find 145 again, criss opens the book more towards the 1st 145. Thats my thought.

Here are some possiblities: Bill wrote the word "conclude" on every page.: second possibilitie: Criss's TV show assistant or whatever he is was holding the ripped book and the camerea guy was looking with his own eyes at Conclude in the book Criss is holding then he told the assistant conclude to tell criss: Now my personal theory.If Criss turns away from the book he's holding how would he know the PAGE NUMBER 145? ahhh... Good, that's right. I have seen him switch cards, chain pendants, or strings. However, some of the bigger things he has done are real. For example, the building-to-building float. He really did use anti-gravity technology. It's been around since ancient times, and apparently is only for the few.
He must have known where he was stopping it, which doesn't require too much of a stretch of the imagination. However, the word guess is still in question.

exactly, slight of hand. he's a pro too, he most likely memorized the whole page. once he had the word he set the camera down, asked him to grab envelope, wich is most likely when it was switched like a pickpocket would do.

cheap trick. chriss is in charge of selecting a page when the guy says stop. If the guy chose a word from the book, no way Chriss could get the word correct. I know this trick very well. But it's too long to explain it here...
This is how he did it: 1. The has two books. 2. Book one has page 145 though out the book. 3. Tell me when to stop, it is the same page thought the book. 4. When he tells him to stop. it is page 145. 5. He told him pick the biggest word..6. when he tells Cris starts to tell him the biggest word in the fist sentence, he is amazed, loses track of the book and the assistant switches it with the book with the ripped page that they tore the day before and sent it. 5. It appears like magic. easy.

The "page 145" trick is simple enough your sister can do it. you need two books and a razor blade. just glue the borrowed page off center or thumb bookmark it so the flip will stop there. then synchronies your question with the flipping. If the flip doesn't stop there then edit the video like what Criss did... reason why I'm revealing criss's trick is because criss needs to put more effort on his magic.
Cyril's hand thru fishtank trick uses the same principle as Criss Angel's walking-through-window trick. If it wasn't a trick, then there wouldn't be a need for a napkin (Cyril) or a newspaper (Criss) to cover the window, would it? Nevertheless, I enjoyed both performances (although Cyril handled it more naturally).
I'm not a magician but believe in magician's code. I once believe that magician's are GOD. Then one day I decided to figure out how it was done, just to see if the magicians were lying. They weren't. Now, the comments with amazement are much more exciting than the show. Even if the fish tank is a standard size on a thin table, the magic is still treated as a scientific video. I wish I could say wow again, like the others.

1.criss can stop wherever he wants (about 0.3 seconds longer or shorter riffle won't be noticed, but is enough to stop exactly at the prepared page.
2. "first line, long word"->there'll be only one long word on the first line, criss already knows it.
3.criss has changed the page-number, he put a fake 145 on the page where he stopped
4.the real page 145 is already torn out (and has been sent to bill before)
the fake page 145 is some pages before or behind the removed page.

Here are some possiblities: Bill wrote the word "conclude" on every page.: second possibilitie: Criss's TV show assistant or whatever he is was holding the ripped book and the camerea guy was looking with his own eyes at Conclude in the book Criss is holding then he told the assistant conclude to tell criss: Now my personal theory.If Criss turns away from the book he's holding how would he know the PAGE NUMBER 145? ahhh... My last theory is that the lady at 1:44 seems suspicious

Good, that's right. I have seen him switch cards, chain pendants, or strings. However, some of the bigger things he has done are real. For example, the building-to-building float. He really did use anti-gravity technology. It's been around since ancient times, and apparently is only for the few.

dude, this trick is easy. its kind of like a simple card trick. criss had his finger in page 145, and the only big word in the first line was conclude. then when he was guessing the word an ascosiate switched the book with the one criss had torn page 145 out of which he sent to the dude

exactly, slight of hand. he's a pro too, he most likely memorized the whole page. once he had the word he set the camera down, asked him to grab envelope, wich is most likely when it was switched like a pickpocket would do.

cheap trick. chriss is in charge of selecting a page when the guy says stop. If the guy chose a word from the book, no way Chriss could get the word correct. I know this trick very well. But it's too long to explain it here...

This is how he did it: 1. The has two books. 2. Book one has page 145 though out the book. 3. Tell me when to stop, it is the same page thought the book. 4. When he tells him to stop. it is page 145. 5. He told him pick the biggest word..6. when he tells Cris starts to tell him the biggest word in the fist sentence, he is amazed, loses track of the book and the assistant switches it with the book with the ripped page that they tore the day before and sent it. 5. It appears like magic. easy.

He said he was holding the book the whole time, yet he doesn't have it through the entire piece. Secondly, Criss uses the word "riffle", which is not a common word, but on that magicians know and use a lot more often.

i've heard that Deejayquick knows about Cyril's ULTIMATE hand thru fish tank glass.
The "page 145" trick is simple enough your sister can do it. you need two books and a razor blade. just glue the borrowed page off center or thumb bookmark it so the flip will stop there. then synchronies your question with the flipping. If the flip doesn't stop there then edit the video like what Criss did... reason why I'm revealing criss's trick is because criss needs to put more effort on his magic.

Cyril's hand thru fishtank trick uses the same principle as Criss Angel's walking-through-window trick. If it wasn't a trick, then there wouldn't be a need for a napkin (Cyril) or a newspaper (Criss) to cover the window, would it? Nevertheless, I enjoyed both performances (although Cyril handled it more naturally).

I'm not a magician but believe in magician's code. I once believe that magician's are GOD. Then one day I decided to figure out how it was done, just to see if the magicians were lying. They weren't. Now, the comments with amazement are much more exciting than the show. Even if the fish tank is a standard size on a thin table, the magic is still treated as a scientific video. I wish I could say wow again, like the others.
