I heard this song back in 1985 for the first time.Today after so many years living in Holland ,, I hear it once again.O God ,,,,sweet sour voice of SHABIR KUMAR and LATA MANGESHKAR make it an unforgetable duet of all times.
I dont know how this song is attached to my soul,,,,I feel like crying and laughing while listening to it.Some times i feel like committing suicide while listening to it.
Unbelievable !!!!!!!!!! after so many years I found that song when I almost lost it somewhere in my heart.. Love this movie and specially this song.......
'I Don't Know What To Do' sings Shabbir kumar for the movie "Housefull"... Shabbir Kumar sounds terrific just the same as he did in the 80s. A funny 'suhaagraat' number Sunidhi Chauhan along with Shabbir Kumar have all the fun behind the mic..the song is picturized on akshay kumar & jiah khan.......
Zihal-e-miskin makun-baranjish y do u feel unpleasant bout my poor heart bahal-e-hijra bechara dil hai wen its alredy sad sunai deti hai jiski dhadkan d heartbeat tht u hear tumhara dil ya hamara dil hai is either frm ur heart or mine wo ake pehlu mein aise baithe he cam n sat so lovingly beside me ke shyam rangeen ho gayi hai tht d evenin hs bcom colrful zarazara si khili tabiyat it makes me feel a lil hapy zara si gamgeen ho gayi hai yet it makes me feel a lil sad
This has been one of my fav songs over the years. It was written by Hazrat Amir Khusro and performed by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. The original version has one line in Farsi followed by another in Hindvi and so on. The version here is tweaked for Bollywood but still a pretty decent attempt.
@smartanu18 wow!!! so well explained and a beautiful song about bechara dil BTW i was trying to find the meaning of hijra, herd it so many times--------- and here i find it
There are two of them. Padmini Kolhapure is the woman in black (dancing) and Anita Raj is the one in the pink/green (and what not) dress.
Indian cinema has had some wonderful songs over the years and this one ranks as high as any one in the last three decades. Unfortunately the musical talent does not transpire to other aspects of our cinema!
bro the woman in the black is definately NOTTTTTTT padmidi. in fact it is a item girl of the 80's and early 90's called Huma Khan. check out the video chand chupta hai from aap ke saath 1986 where she appears towards the end of the song with anil kapoor on the beach in a bikini. OKI LOL.
The initial lines have been taken from the famous Amir Khusro poem. They go like "Zeehaal-e miskeen makun taghaful,
duraye naina banaye batiyan;
ki taab-e hijran nadaram ay jaan,
na leho kaahe lagaye chhatiyan."
What makes this poem wonderful is that it is written in two languages - Persian and Brij Bhasha - (alternating lines) as you will notice from the first para i have reproduced above.
close to my heart song..dont know it has some pulling feelings. reminds some one very close to my heart.

Just to clarify to everyone, the singers ARE NOT Alka and Shabbir, but Lata and Shabbir!! (And not even Mohammed Aziz.)

Gopikanta,
I love this diversity and the unique flavors arising from them. So do you.
That is literature.
Like someone said, you cannot remove world hunger but that does not mean we destroy diversity

zihaal-e-miskeen mukon ba-ranjish, bahaal-e-hijra bechara dil hai
zihaal = notice
miskeen = poor
mukon = do not
ba-ranjish = with ill will, with enimity
bahaal = condition
hijra = separation
Thus the meaning is: Notice the poor (heart), and do not look at it (heart)
with enimity. Its (heart) is wounded because of separation.
