  • Thats a dangurous game your playing there stud, but beautiful just the same :-) Nice tapeing and thanks for shareing.

  • Nice!

  • How often do thunderstorms like this occur in the Coeur D'Alene area?

  • Just spectacular.... amazing thunderstorm this is! The strike at 1:01 seemed very close since that loud thunder!

  • I miss thunderstorms. In the LA area there is very little lightening. Growing up in NY my house was struck. An upstairs bedroom exploded along with electrical outlets thoughout the house. Of course, this started a fire - Good times!

  • hehe i live in cda i dont remember the storm as much as my dog freaking out and trying to hide in weird places.

  • zues stabs the sky with thunderbolts and hurricane winds

  • I miss those storms. We don't really get any in Portland.

  • I remember when Colorado had bad storms now they seem every year not to be so intense, that was pretty cool, thanks for posting it, what time of the day was this?

  • oh man i remember that storm... lol the lightning was AWESOME! the one a few nights ago was pretty sweet too

  • Sweet! I so miss CDA! Grew up there.

  • WOW, and I thought south Texas had bad thunderstorms, that was neat!

  • I LIVE HERE IN CDA

  • I LOVE HERE and i don't remember this

  • I was born in CDA and grew up there. I live in California now (long story)...anyways, CDA is pretty lucky because it's the only part of the Northwest that gets these Arizona-style Thunderstorms. Portland & Seattle almost never do and Boise hardly does either. It must be something about the geography and how it influences the climate?

  • You're exactly right, apple92681 - geographical aspects have everything to do with it. Because of the close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, cool air moving in onshore promotes more stable atmospheric patterns and therefore inhibits instability. Although the ocean works in favor of keeping temperatures moderate year-round, it also prevents severe storms from spawning in those regions of North America.

    Hope this helps.

  • I miss CD'A. Grew up there...

  • Ooo la la

  • I recorded that storm on my cell phone, not bad for Idaho I guess.

  • Spectacular finish! Lovely crack of thunder!
