thats the tri path chip, its bricked.... The chip is no longer made.... I realize this is an old video, but its such a shame to see a sick ass amp that cant be fixed...
is your rca and remote beside each other or rca and power from batt if so run on opposite side or get sound compressor from wal mart or nearewst audio shop

sounds like the fan is making that sound, have you checked that?
don't know why turning the knobs would make any diff, but that definately sounds more mechanical than electrical.
