I have found glass and construction signs in bike lanes….and downtown I refuse to use bike lanes why because it takes one person to open their car door without looking….
You yes, and this fact awaits to arrive inside your tiny brain. If the fremont, ca police dept truly cared about inforcing the law regarding cars, and other legal matters, they would drive up and drown each street and look for each car in each driveway. But since they only look for a certain number of tickets to take money from a few taxpayers, they are only legalized goons who know nothing about justice, nor care about meth labs. And that is a fact, Jack.
You miss the point. But that was not the case at all. It was the police taking money from the tax payers, while ignoring the meth head labs. And if you are to stupid to get the message, then do not email me again. The police are supposed to not be goons who steal from the tax payers. The police are supposed to protect the tax payers from criminals and meth labs; and when they do not know how to "Serve and Protect." then, they are criminal who are simply wearing guns and badges.
You think that is bad? In Fremont CA, I received a parking ticket on my legal car in my home driveway, as well as old men and 85 year old lady, and other tax payers, all down the street, all the while the Fremont police dept. ignored the meth lab next door, and their many unused parked trucks and cars in their driveway. How lazy can they be? Whatever happened to the true meaning to, "Serve and Protect." Justice, Integrity, and Common Sense?
@tastethewind , you fail to mention what the ticket was for. Most cities have whats call dead storage laws. Even a licensed car on a private driveway can be ticketed if left for set amount of time in most cities.
You think that is bad? In Fremont CA, the police dept ignores the meth labs while it gives out parking tickets to cars parked in driveways, to old men and women, and tax payers, that have to live around the meth lab, its drug infested house. Instead, it should give parking tickets to the cars in the driveway of the meth labs and then bust the meth head labs. Whatever happened to the true meaning to, "Serve and Protect." Justice, Integrity, and Common Sense?
Where I live our pavements are divided into two with a white line, one side is for pedestrians and the other is for bikers. But some ass holes insist on biking in the fucking bus lane when a bike lane is right next to them. -_- It doesn't help that the bike lane is in the road but it was pretty unfair that guy got fined if something was obstructing his path.
@MrRik2 I admit that some cyclists can be rude and schmucky (as is the case with car drivers and human beings in general), but that wasn't really the point of this video or of Neistat's whole thing. It was the matter of what the hell is the point of even having designated "bike lanes" if they would be obstructed by things for so long, willy nilly, with cops not doing anything about THAT, and what's the point in having laws that say to bikers "use the bike lanes"?
This is the problem with today's society - to prove a point you have to either have something fatal happen for it to hit home or show how damaging it can be VISUALLY..no one seems to take notice otherwise.

Learn to walk. Don't fucking ride silly ass bikes in the streets when people have shit to do. The idiot who crashed into the truck offloading product to stores to feed his family? Nice going dumb fuck. Roads are for automobiles mmkay? I'm glad we learned something today.
@Warpath2198 uhh, did you miss the part that there are supposed to be BIKE LANES...reserved for bikes, when they're available... That's the whole point of the video. Bikes are sometimes necessary to some people, and have always been around. And designated bike lanes uh should NOT be obstructed, by trucks or anything else, for so long.... Otherwise what the hell is the point of even having designated "bike lanes" and what's the point in having laws that say to bikers "use the bike lanes"?
@Warpath2198 He meant to crash into the lorry.. that was the whole point of the video to show how bike lanes are obstructed and what would happen if you stayed on them
@dariod2007 it depends... The bike was not the most macho type, admittedly, but it's not nece-celery just a "girl's bike" per se. There are bikes way more feminine-ish than that.
@dariod2007 well that's a bit of an over-reaction. It's not a bike I'd necessarily get, but there are bikes more sissy than that...is my point. By the way, I think it was fairly sturdy, regardless... to withstand all those crashes and all that abuse. To each his own......whatever.
@sweetmuzix ok cool so long as that bike gets painted pink and compacted I'm happy. Also it would be even nicer if he crashed in an open sewer! LoL wharf warf haw haa
@7777sf actually that's not true... if you saw the very end of this video, it said that his front fork was harmed, and made the bicycle now unusable. Though I know you meant your comment in jest... It's actually not true.
For people complaining about bikers: I don't bike by choice, I bike because I can't afford a car. I also prefer to have all of my insides stay, well, on the inside. This usually entails not being hit by a car, and I'm sure many others prefer not to get ran over as well.
Bikers are full of their own self importance.I was cut up by a cyclist the other morning and you should have seen the look he gave me before the paramedics arrived. Ungrateful bastard!!!
Biker are the biggest crybabies in the world and the essence of the selfish factions described in the Federalist Papers. In their minds, the vast majority must inconvenience themselves to accommodate a small selfish minority of brainwashed drones who believed the earth was heading for an ice age in the 1970s and for global warming in the naughts, on no more evidence than it's what the tv and cool set told them
@jkirk1626 not all, some bike simply because they can't afford cars at the moment, or for expedience...not always because of soap-box environmentalism. I personally like both bikes AND cars. So not all bikers are what you say.... And it misses the point that "bike lanes" should NOT be obstructed so much, because what the hell is the point of even having them then? And what's the point of having a law saying to bikers "use bike lanes"?
@dungeonhack420 yeah, I know...but were you addressing me, or did you mean to address "Warpath"? Because HE was the one complaining about bikers, not I. You might have commented to me by mistake. I'm not sure...
@jkirk1626 Or can't afford the skyrocketing prices of gas....you generalizing fuck. Nice history lesson dumbass. To bad it wasn't worth shit as an argument.
Mayor Bloomberg once again proves his idiocy. While he says people have to obey the laws, his police and other cronies break laws constantly in order to "protect the people." The people of New York get what they deserve if they vote him back into office.
This Neistat guy looks like a cross between Sean Penn & Woody Harrelson, lol.
BTW, does anyone know if it's illegal for those vehicles to park in the bicycle lanes? Can they be ticketed? If so, then the mayor's comment that "the law must be obeyed" can work both ways. If not, then maybe the authorities expect cyclists to dismount & walk around the vehicles blocking the bike lane.
AWESOME! I saw this on BBC news and had to check it out. It really is a shame, I see all these environmental posters encouraging bike usage, but when we actually RIDE as a form of commute we are completely disregarded. I've been flipped off, yelled at, hit, because I have to go around a car or stop and wait for traffic to clear on a daily basis. This is in California. Way to go! Good job making the biker's voice heard.
haha epic!

In Brazil we don't have bik lanes, and we ride with the cars, many bikers die because that. The guilt is as always the politicians, diverting funds
or making the public like the elitist layer, which
prefer to walk in their super powerful and polluting cars
