If the fremont, ca police dept truly cared about inforcing the law regarding cars, and other legal matters, they would drive up and drown each street and look for each car in each driveway. In Fremont CA, I received a parking ticket on my legal car in my home driveway, as well as old men and 85 year old lady, and other tax payers, all down the street, all the while the Fremont police dept. ignored the meth lab next door, and their many unused parked trucks and cars in their driveway. Where I live our pavements are divided into two with a white line, one side is for pedestrians and the other is for bikers. But some ass holes insist on biking in the fucking bus lane when a bike lane is right next to them. -_- It doesn't help that the bike lane is in the road but it was pretty unfair that guy got fined if something was obstructing his path.

It was the matter of what the hell is the point of even having designated "bike lanes" if they would be obstructed by things for so long, willy nilly, with cops not doing anything about THAT, and what's the point in having laws that say to bikers "use the bike lanes"?

Bikes are sometimes necessary to some people, and have always been around. And designated bike lanes uh should NOT be obstructed, by trucks or anything else, for so long.... For people complaining about bikers: I don't bike by choice, I bike because I can't afford a car. I also prefer to have all of my insides stay, well, on the inside. This usually entails not being hit by a car, and I'm sure many others prefer not to get ran over as well.

BTW, does anyone know if it's illegal for those vehicles to park in the bicycle lanes? Can they be ticketed? If so, then the mayor's comment that "the law must be obeyed" can work both ways. AWESOME! I saw this on BBC news and had to check it out. It really is a shame, I see all these environmental posters encouraging bike usage, but when we actually RIDE as a form of commute we are completely disregarded. I've been flipped off, yelled at, hit, because I have to go around a car or stop and wait for traffic to clear on a daily basis. This is in California. Way to go! Good job making the biker's voice heard.
