@555puff back up your ipod it should do that automatically when you plug in i you have manual sync witch is recomended. and I have the new one just double click and re name it should work fine it worked for me

Sorry, I could of explained more in the video. But what you do is, you click where it says "Apple iPod", then it should let you rename it.

Sorry I didn't get to this earlier. I don't know why I didn't see the comment. If that pops up, then you are doing it wrong! lol. I'd say make sure you iPod is plugged in ALL the way...but besides that, just try again and make sure you do it right (so simple, don't know how it could be wrong).
