This is no longer a war. "Winning a war" or taking over the capital of Afghanistan has always been an easy task, you just cross your tanks over a desert the size of Texas, that was done years ago. What you are seeing now is an attempt to occupy Afghanistan and that is impossible. No empire in history has accomplished this so far and they (in trying to do so) have always bled out in Afghanistan. Afghans can fight for another 100 years, the US on the other hand will run dry.
