  • <3 <3 awesome, not a fan of the song much previously, but this performance has made me realize how special it is

  • they should reform and bring all their discarded lead guitarists back from the dead

  • the tyne tees date at the end says 1988 !

  • From the great " Tinderbox " album.

  • Fine performance. Carruthers was a great banshee guitarist, love the end section of this song.

  • I don't understand how the audience can stand there so still.

  • ))) The volcanic depths, Of HADES ocean, Bubble Under These Crazed Eruptions - Drink the water with jagged glass, Eat the CACTUS with bleeding mouth - Not 91, not 93, but Fahrenheit 92 DEGREES (((

I can't get over how amazing this song, the lyrics are too good_I can listen on repeat for hours...

  • FUCKYES

  • A really underrated album. Love it!

  • TINDERBOX the best album ever

  • you might be right...

  • @nabzjaar C'est aussi ma favorite !!!!! merci pour le partage !!!!

  • What a find ! Thanks for the upload.

  • And...Siouxsie isn't 80's?

    Could have sworn...

  • public is dead !!! siouxie i love you

  • Remember watching this on the tube at the time! Loved it! I think I was intrigued by the jackets they were wearing too lol

  • douche

  • throwing a tantrum won't make her sing any better

  • pfffff!

  • such a beautiful song

  • Me encanta esta canción! perfecta performance desde un excelente álbum Tinderbox.

    Saludos desde Buenos Aires!

  • este tema es una obsesion personal .

  • I truly love her voice and this isn't even my preferred genre.

  • Effortless! This is real poetry in motion while adding real value to my spirit.

  • I remember seeing them live for this record tour...i thought i died and went to heaven...I was crying, screaming...I will never forget that night...great video..it brings back all those memories....

  • impecable makeup

    i marvel at her eyes

  • I love this song so much.....

  • perfect performance

  • this songs badass i love this ALBUM TINDERBOX one of the banshees and siouxsies BEST

  • great theme of a great album

  • The most eloquent and elegant rock band ever to grace the world of music. No one compares and few know.

  • Nice

  • Brilliant ! and that riff at the end is marvellous too.

  • All Banshee guitarists were great.

  • this is an absolutely fantastic song, the album version is brilliant ( the entire tinderbox album is a classic )

  • not wrong !! ;=)

  • My favorite song. The best time of the group. Maybe this live vrsion is not so intense and dramatic than "Tinderbox" studio album, but Siouxie it's great.

  • Amazing song! The Banshees are for sure one of the greatest bands of the 80's!

  • OMG - I had this on VHS for years... i think they also did Candyman on the same show - The Tube was brilliant

  • i wanna look like her.

  • when i saw this i was blown away, i stil prefer stuff from the JuJu album but this is an amazing perfomance i think it really shows off siouxsie's vocals

  • Saw them in Bonn Germany in 1986, my first concert ever. Thanks for that footage.

Right at the start of this song on the album there is a sample from a movie. Does anyone know what movie that is? Sounds like some 50ties trash.

  • movie is called it came from outer space.

  • I saw them perform in those days in amsterdam. The promotion tour of tinderbox. They did the tinderbox album, spellbound and went off..no contact with their audience, no talking,no nothing.Just very distant.I like Siouxsie's way of performing nowadays far more than then.(joking, laughing, just not eagerly clamping on the "ice-queen-image".)

  • Not sure if I agree, having seen the tinderbox tour here in the motor city, and so many appearances after...when she lightened up on what was the final banshees tour, it was kind of disconcerting at first because of all the fantastic drama that was the Tinderbox era Siouxsie... goddess... we were up on our feet from the first note to the very last!!

  • The audience is afraid to move as their hairdos might go flat. Maybe Duran Duran were up next.

  • Thank God for bands who refuse to release mainstream material. I bought that album upon it's release many, many years ago. I was sick of what was playing on the radio and badly needed to hear something fresh. The Tinderbox album sure hit the mark. Siouxsie still had her voice at the time and the band smoked some good stuff as they came out with something I had never heard before. I have always loved that track and still play it on the turntable to this day.

    Rock On,

  • what can i say ???

  • drink the water with jagged glass eat the cactus with bleedin' mouth not 91 !or 93!!buutt!!!

  • Best Siouxsie & the Banshees track. That makes it one of the best all time, yeah?

  • oh man, actually I love this song (the guitar work is brilliant) but hate it at the same time, because I always get melancholic when hearing it and I can't get the riff out of my head!

  • same here.disturbing stuff.

  • I had never heard Siouxsie before this album came out, only that they had a pretty big following. I bought Tinderbox on a whim because I was tired of the music they were playing on the radio. I've been hooked ever since.

  • Not 91, or 93 but the greatest Banshees track of all time. Sadly I lost my recording of this clip. Thanks Skywalker

  • "The volcanic depths of Hades ocean....."

  • Tinderbox is one of fav Siouxsie albums. Right after The Scream and Juju.

  • Agreed re the two albums before Tinderbox, JUJU wasn't their greatest, haven't seen this in years, nice one.

  • Siouxsie's wail is the biggest turn on for me

  • Yes. Me too.

  • My mates fave band in the early 80's. Saw them myself 3 or 4 times & were very good. Had Robin Smith of the Cure playing in one gig. Still have a VHS of this somewhere - but have been looking for it for years. Thanks for saving me further effort

  • Robin? Er, Robert, and he played with them for a couple of years. You can see him on the video of the Albert Hall gig (Nocturne), and in the video to Dear Prudence.

    *80's gothboy trivia service ends*

  • Best song from the Tinderbox album and the album itself is an improvement since Kiss in the dreamhouse after 2 lesser good previous albums...

  • Thank you so much for posting this, i had it on vhs when it was first broadcast, an amazing performance and Tinderbox is still one of my favourite albums, cheers skywalker!

  • love this song....the performance paled a bit compared to those blistering 1981 juju-era songs in dusseldorf...but i think JUJU and TINDERBOX are the crowning achievements of the band...both are perfect albums.

  • 92° is my favourite song from Tinderbox.

  • I love this album. I think it's one of their best. Budgies drumming is more creative and strong here than on any album.

  • Drink the water with jagged glass

Eat the cactus with bleeding mouth

Not 91 or 93, but 92 Fahrenheit degrees.i love it soo much when she sings that part of this song.the punk voice n scream are appreciative.

  • wow. Great lyrics.

  • Best track off one of thier best albums!

  • Tinderbox is my personal fave Siouxsie record. Do any of you remember when they were in that movie OUT OF BOUNDS with Anthony Michael Hall? They played themselves in a Hollywood club scene playing Cities In Dust. It came out in 1986. Good movie by the way.

  • No but if they are in it I am going to rent it.

  • tinderbox is the best album ever.

  • I think personally the guiter work from john on this album is quite superb! Melodic but in a aggresive way!My favourite siouxsie album!

  • love to see a good quality hong kong garden posted from german tv,s rockpop, just a snippet at the end of this clip i see,my video recording is in poor quality unfortunately.cheers

  • Whoa-great song and performance. LOVE her shriek at 2:55.

  • yes along with the scary thing she does woth her fingers above her head.

  • oooo yes :)

  • Great video. I'm sure the continuance is here somewhere.

  • It looked like another Siouxsie vid was about to start at the end of this. Does anyone have it uploaded?

  • love that Siouxsie punk voice that she inserted at one point during the song. Reminiscent of The Scream and Join Hands.

  • I totally agree with you okiko76. Wow, what a fab piece of footage. They look and sound amazing. Thanks so much for posting!

  • Good Siouxsie. Good song from a good album

  • I agree; the whole Tinderbox album is one of the best I've heard ever.

  • Very cool performance. I think John Valentine Carruthers was underestimated. Not a McGeoch, but I like his style.

  • Siousie always had AMAZING guitarist. This John Valentine is a another example. I love Tinderbox album and always the guitar play on it. I am happy to see finally a footage on this era and find out how he plays. I am a guitarist myself and ALL songs from Siouxsie are terribly hard to find out what they play. Chapeau Mr. Valentine Carruthers and McGeoch. I miss you both with your innovative play.

  • Musibear, John Valentine Carruthers and John McGeoch were the best guitarists to have ever played with the Banshees. So innovative, both of them.

  • Hell yes! this is an amazing work from both of them... No need to "shred" to be a guitarist. or perform solo.. I LOVE the sound on this guitarist.

  • I agree. I hate shredding, but the guitar work of both McGeoch and Carruthers has influenced my playing for the past 30 years. Superb.

  • indeed. carruthers in particular - genius.
