No, ibn Salool wasn't there. The hadith which tells this is weak and fake, since some men in the transmission chain are unknown, and some others are known for being liar and isnad inventors. And others are to be ignored. (accroding to Imam Ahmad, and Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar...)
The incident of Ibn Ridhwan was a big event and not only one hadeeth talks about it. I have on front of me tens of hadeeth just about the fact that ibn salool was there. Tell me which hadeeth are you referring to exactly so we can discuss its chain of narrations. A link would be best.

Do not worry, some people will reject and some people will agree with you. Whether you are sunni or shii, its all the same (all of us say there is no god but Allah and the prophet is Muhammed is the last messenger) but the best thing to do is keep reading and searching in sunna and shiia books. Do not forget to ask scholars as well.
Assalamu Alaikum.Prophet Muhammad (SAW) himself told us that the most knowledgeable should lead the people and he did not want a monarchy.While his lineage is blessed and honored,our beloved Prophet (SAW) taught us that the khalifah should be decided by the people. Ali was a Mu'min, a believer, and not a Prophet or one of any divine power.There was actually a time when people wanted him as khalifah on the basis of his lineage and he exiled them from Madinah.

What books have you been Reading?, Shiism was created by the Persians not by the Arabs due to the fact that the Arab defeated them in War, they started Shiism to go against every aspect of Arabia. Anyway, About Shiite. One of the biggest Sunni scholar is Ibn Hajar says on his book: Al Sawaiq Al Mohrikah (burning lightnins): on bab 1, chapter 1, verse 11 that the Prophet has described that Shiite are the one who follow Imam Ali.
I don't have that reference. Muhammad (SAW) said that there will be a fitnah regarding Ali after his death. After the death of Muhammad (SAW), there was a group of people who wanted Ali to become Khalifah because of his noble lineage and relation to the Prophet (SAW). Ironically, Ali was the one who exiled that group from Medina showing his nobility and belief in what the Prophet (SAW) taught.
The exiled incident is not true. A new invention. No historian has said that before. Imam Ali was not the Khalifah to have that authority. he couldn't even return a small land his wife owned.
I would like to point out that you are pointing to 1 hadith and who knows how you interpreted it and you are rejecting several other credible and authentic hadith rejecting Shaism.

This form of debating is very common and been used by the Prophet and Imams. Mentioning a hadeeth from the Sunnis, for example, doesn't mean that I have to believe on all hadeeths. We are using the evidences from their own books (because they belive that their books are authentic)just like we do with the bible and Christians.

ws brother, no we are familiar with those hadeeths. That hadeeth was invented by the Ummayads Caliphate. Not all stars can be used for guidance; only particular ones. How can I follow two Sahabis if both are going two different direcctions; cursed each other; fought each other.
The verse that Allah is please with them doesn't guarantee someone a continuing guidance. Too many proofs to give and little space to do so.

you mention how there were some sahabas that were hypocrites, but back in the day the sahaba were avidly devoute to Islam and its teaching that it was easy to tell who was a hypocrite according to four signs that prophet muhammad PBUH spoke of:
When they speak, they lie
when they make a promise, they break it;
when they are trusted, they betray the trust
when they argue, they behave very imprudently
Muhammad's sahabas were true because none of those characteristics were part of their nature.

I approved your comment cause it didn't include any attacks. You asked a good question which I have a very easy answer. In the verses that percede 33:33 the Quran refers to the wives using the female plural but in 33:33 itself, it used: the male & female plural. Check it out yourself.

In 33:33 the first sentence uses the female only pronoun, kunna. the 2nd sentence uses the male and female pronoun, Kum. it is the 2nd sentence that uses the term ahlal bait. In sahih muslim, "merits of family of prophet" verse 33:33 is described as Muhammad,Ali,Fatima, Hassan, Hussein.

people have so many misconceptions about shias whic is wrong many people dont even know anything about shi'ism. they are muslims just llike sunnis except they didnt believe that abu bakr wasthe 1st calipha they believed it was imam ali due to the events that happened in ghadeer khum. thats the only major difference but many people are led to believe false statements such as they pray to the imams which is totally wrong. the holy prophet himself used to mention his projeny in many hadiths.

What ? all shia hadith are lies about their imams !! Dude, Bukhari and Muslim and our a'ima' made a great job, just some decades after the prophet's death. They gathered all the hadith and created "ilm alHadith" science of Hadith, where we sunnis are the only leaders. While shia hadith are 500 years old, lied from the imams, because they declared the imams infaillble,which is kufr,they invented hadith and lies.

Can you explain just one thing, Why so many ahadith from Bibi Aisha and Abu Harurah and under 20 ahadith from Ali and other from prophets family amongst 6000 ahadith in Bokhari. Why not from Hazrat Khadijah who spent more time with Prophet PBUH and Ali who shadowed Prophet since he was baby till he did Gushal and Kafan of prophet why " Umamah " was being "democratic" in Saqifah. The fact is Muslims need to get over the idea that one sect is better than or more authentic than the other. This is a huge problem subjecting Muslims to exploitation.
the only issue should be whether one sect accept the other or not.
What is happening in Iraq so far shows otherwise.
to me there are many islamic religions and they cannot be one, much like catholics and protestants. Muslims however do not have the luxury of time because big powers are against there existence.

Look at the fight among Chirstians: Who proved right? Who benefitted?
The real question is: why did Europe stop the fight over religious themes among Christians?

I myself was born in a mixed sunni-shia family but after doing research I became Shia.
"Shia is the right faith because Shias have logic to all the actions they do".
Sunnis just do things without any reasoning and when you ask a Sunni mullah question, he tells you asking why is haram (prohibited).
The 2nd factor that attracted me towards Shia faith was that Shias always respect others (Christians, Hindus, Jews, and others).Shias also respect your disagreement.

I know that followers of shiasim hate Aisha, when clearly theres a whole surah in the Quran about her. Tell me what you think about this?

Their books admit in Sahih Muslim that the Prophet said: the hating of Imam Ali is a sign of hypocrisy. Another book (also admitted by the Sunnis) that Aaisha hated the guts of Imam Ali. So, what do you want us to conclude from both Hadeeths? Be fair and sensible in your answer

Do not worry, some people will reject and some people will agree with you. Whether you are sunni or shii, its all the same (all of us say there is no god but Allah and the prophet is Muhammed is the last messenger) but the best thing to do is keep reading and searching in sunna and shiia books. Do not forget to ask scholars as well.

Assalamu Alaikum.Prophet Muhammad (SAW) himself told us that the most knowledgeable should lead the people and he did not want a monarchy.While his lineage is blessed and honored,our beloved Prophet (SAW) taught us that the khalifah should be decided by the people. Ali was a Mu'min, a believer, and not a Prophet or one of any divine power.There was actually a time when people wanted him as khalifah on the basis of his lineage and he exiled them from Madinah.
May Allah guide us all to the truth.

What books have you been Reading?, Shiism was created by the Persians not by the Arabs due to the fact that the Arab defeated them in War, they started Shiism to go against every aspect of Arabia. The Caliphates was decided by the Islamic Ummah it was a democracy. Sarmadq is right in every statement he said. Anyway, About Shiite. One of the biggest Sunni scholar is Ibn Hajar says on his book: Al Sawaiq Al Mohrikah (burning lightnins): on bab 1, chapter 1, verse 11 that the Prophet has described that Shiite are the one who follow Imam Ali.

I don't have that reference. Muhammad (SAW) said that there will be a fitnah regarding Ali after his death. After the death of Muhammad (SAW), there was a group of people who wanted Ali to become Khalifah because of his noble lineage and relation to the Prophet (SAW). Ironically, Ali was the one who exiled that group from Medina showing his nobility and belief in what the Prophet (SAW) taught.

The exiled incident is not true. A new invention. No historian has said that before. Imam Ali was not the Khalifah to have that authority. he couldn't even return a small land his wife owned.

I would like to point out that you are pointing to 1 hadith and who knows how you interpreted it and you are rejecting several other credible and authentic hadith rejecting Shaism.

This form of debating is very common and been used by the Prophet and Imams. Mentioning a hadeeth from the Sunnis, for example, doesn't mean that I have to believe on all hadeeths. We are using the evidences from their own books (because they belive that their books are authentic)just like we do with the bible and Christians.

Believe the 12 imams are infallible..thats ridiculous. To believe that u must believ that they are more perfect than our prophets. It is to believe that people who r not in the quran (12 imams) are godlike, better than the greatest man Muhammed. To me that is the biggest trick played by the jews. Why do shiites hate to acknoledge/explain many things fundamental to shiite belief? It reminds me of how christians squirm when asked to explain the holy trinity!! There is something called "structure" when you build an argument. What use my answer is going to be if you don't believe in "infalliablilty" all togethe, whethere it is a prophet or an imam?
similarily, I wouldn't discuss even the infalliability of the Prophet with someone who isn't even a Muslim. I wouldn't explain that the Quran is the word of Allah with someone who doesn't believe in the Creator.

Maybe you havent read the hadith of rasulullah when he said that 'all my companions are like shinig stars..if you follow any one of them, you shall be rightly guided'... and the aayah in which Allah (SWT) states that the sahabah were pleased with allah and allah was pleased with them...

ws brother, no we are familiar with those hadeeths. That hadeeth was invented by the Ummayads Caliphate. Not all stars can be used for guidance; only particular ones. How can I follow two Sahabis if both are going two different direcctions; cursed each other; fought each other.
The verse that Allah is please with them doesn't guarantee someone a continuing guidance. Too many proofs to give and little space to do so.

How can i support my claim? easy, islam takes away basic freedoms you have, like drinking alcohol or eating pork, and treats women like 2nd class citizens; it suppresses freedom of thought by introducing taboos... again no religion does not have taboos, but some I say make sense others like banning foods are nonsense and illogic.

About alcohol, no you don't have the dream to lose your mind and endanger the lives of others because you felt like drinking alcohol, for example. 20,000 people get killed every year because of drinking & driving. There is a fine limit between your freedom and others'.

Well people who slaughter in the name of Islam do it because this is how it was done when Islam came to life; westerners might not know that, but islam was spread by the sword "aslim tislam" or "become a Muslim to survive". I don't see anyone killing in the name of Christianity these days, but I do see the opposite; the pope is a messenger of piece and Christianity spreads a message of freedom, peace, and love of humanity.

I don't know the Engllish title, but I know the arabic one (I am an Arab originally). The book is: Dirasat Fi Aqaed Al Shiite Al Imamiah.
Author: Muhammad Ali Al Hasani Al Aamily
Publisher: Noman Institute, Beirut, Lebanon.
The book lists the main beliefs like the: "Unity of Allah," "Justice of Allah," "Prophecy concluded by Muhammad SAWS," "Leadership after the Prophet starting with Ali A.S.," etc...

- click on the first link.
