I absolutely adore this poem. In fact, I had come to youtube just to hear Jenny Joseph's voice reciting her poem. I found her voice, but not her form....just a green page and the sound of her voice. Then I clicked on your reading of the poem.
You know, Jenny had a certain cadence, an idea behind the words she spoke. You captured it beautifly. And although I am only 53, I too shall wear purple with a red hat that does not go. Thank you, Trudy. Yet, also to your Aunt.
@sherice1226 Thank you so much for your kind comments which I have to admit have brought a tear to my eye. This is only ever the second time I've read this poem out loud. Once was at my Aunt's funeral and then this time at a commemorative service 10 years later. I loved my Aunt dearly - she was only 51 when she died suddenly and I miss her so much. This was her favourite poem and it could have been written for her so I read it as if she were sat in the pew listening to me. xxx

I tried few others; you know how it goes on youtube. Then I clicked on your reading of the poem. AHHhhh. You know, Jenny had a certain cadence, an idea behind the words she spoke. You captured it. And, me being an old women, I thank you for that.
Thank you, Trudy. Not just for me. But for your Aunt. I hope I too will have someone like you that has a love for me as you have had for your Aunt.
