My take? She's been ridiculously overhyped. I was expecting the next big thing, and what I got was sort of a Marianne Faithfull Lite instead. She's not untalented, but she is skating by mostly on those Vogue model looks right now. If she showed up in my local coffehouse, I'd probably love her...but as a national act she's still somewhat uncomfortable and self-involved on stage. Interested to see what her next move will be, and if she can prove she's more than a one-trick pony, Jury's still out.
