@411FordRanger actually dude both companies were in trouble and they took different roads in solving their problem, gm took government bail out money which put them in the public eye but ford sold off all of their stock in their sister companies off, for example mercury now owns itself, and it wasn't gm that went under it was actually a company called delphi who makes the electronics and ac compressors for gm vehicles they went under thus draging gm with them so dont blame the cars

first of all, open up the Diffs, lock the center, front and rear, that alone would make all four wheels speen in the same direction at the same speed/rate. as you can see, only one front wheel and one rear wheel spins at a time, at most, as these two trucks are. four wheel traction is better than two. watch the wheels on cement when they tug of war. see how many spin at any given time.

@MRLucifersdoosje well to be fair electric isn't necessarily stronger, it just has less lag. And the case of the Summit is all about traction and control, it's less likely to spin its wheels. But i myself prefer electric, gas kits can initially cost more than even their brushless counterparts. Not to mention that nitro costs well over $30 a gallon and some kits can use up to a pint each run, whereas a good Lipo can cost from $20-$100 and yield over 100 runs with the same runtimes.

If I am correct, this was a Jugg w/ an extended wheelbase kit from ESP vs a TXT-1. I love the look of the Jugg, of the Tamiya trucks I think it looks the best with the upgrades, however I own the TXT-1 myself with several mods. I bet those ESCs were hot as hell after these pulls!!!!!!

nope, a stock electric truck will outpull ANY nitro because an internal combustion engine has to build up power and an electric motor makes full power instantly. the nitro has more peak power but the electrics is the same amount of power all the time (100%)

go look for a video of a nitro and an electric as long as they are of reasonable size/performance the electric will outpull the nitro. electric motors also make more torque so even if the nitro could rev up enough it wouldnt make as much torque

I agree,electric motors tend to have more bottom-end torque than nitros. While a 540 or 550 motor will spin at about 12-16k or more rpm's and a nitro between say 20-40k electric motors make most of their torque at lower rpm ranges than nitro. I have some mabuchi 775's and they will definitely out-pull a nitro.

Especially the E-maxx, because of the low center of gravity. I lowered my emaxx, and with (2) 775 motors in it it will own just about anything else out there. If you've ever watched those Strongman competitions on T.V. you wou'll see that when they pull a tractor-trailer or whatever, that the guy will lean way forward so as to lower the COG of his body. It's pretty much the same principle, only the E-maxx has the advantage built in. It's not recommended to run 540's in an E-maxx btw 550 or 775!

nope, electric motors produce all of thier torque just off 0rpm and progressively lose it as the revs rise, hence the prius engine kicks in at 30mph, im a nitro fan but only because theyre more mechanical and car like, motors seem to be just for tools, but im remaining unbiased overall
