  • hey i put some sound dampening materials in my boot and that works great but inside the car where the rear speakers sit, it vibrates like the whole thing is going to come off, so what should i do to stop this?

its kinda gets annoying when i turn my music up would just dynamat do it?

  • @EXOcontralto im from eastlake ohio i have checked three lowes close to me and cant find it at all. sorry for the late response

  • @DaCing04 - What area of the Country are you form?

  • hey what did you use at 0.57 to make the peel & seal stick and make all the air come out? thanx

  • @M3E90 - A 1$ wooden roller from Lowes.

  • Guess Im going to home depot tomorrow.

  • @amitkalsi1 - Good luck !

  • can i put this where my headliner was it rattles and when it rains its loud lol

  • @wifebeater756 - You can, but it might not help a whole lot.

  • @EXOcontralto went great, iv been watchin u since (around) april 09 learned alot from u thanks!

  • @60DCB - Sweet man! Glad to hear that :)

  • Thanks for vid! I was about to get fat mat but for the price of this stuff im all in

  • @60DCB - Let us know how it goes!

  • Not the best option.. But it will save you $

  • @iBawl45 - Best cheap alternative for sure - Best quality option is Second Skin Automotive Insulation.

  • @EXOcontralto Look into sound deadener showsown, from my tests, SDS is superior to SS. they are so underrated.. the company is also a pleasure to do business with. Check them out, you wont be disappointed, it will change your views on deadener completely :)

  • my dad's car makes 0:56 sounds any help??

  • @YurieAplus - Second Skin Damplifier Pro

  • did this on rear door nothing rattles except the glass so im stuck with rattle

  • @rsqizar - NICE!

  • so would this keep my Chevy cobalt's trunk from rattling? because it rattles a ton.

  • @myklhicks - Maybe a bit, but I would suggest some second skin after dealing with this stuff.

  • Thank You I was going to spend 95 on dynamat

  • @avn909avn - Careful though, this stuff isn't made for this - I only used in on the floors because of the fact that it's not strong material, and doesn't add much reinforcement like other deadeners.

  • Would this kill road noise in my jeep

  • @wifebeater756 - No, it would probably not make a difference with that.

  • cool flips

  • @h0354y - Thanks for noticing mang!

  • @wildeturkey03 Thanks for the comment man!

  • Strange remarks on this video once more.

  • @erryfleming11k - Strange remarks on this video once more.

  • What do I do when my rear view mirror shifts out of view constantly when theres bass

  • @xianos707 - Enjoy it!

  • haha i have that same van dude just mines a commercial van i got no windows on the sides haha and its completely gutted in the back but i got a sick sub behind my seat some load speakers in the way back hatch and speakers in my doors along wit a new radio. i fixed it up so much. 1988 dodge ram van is the SHIT

  • @SuperWhiteboi9 - Gatta love the classics :)

  • awesome flips at the end...

  • @5usaO - THANKS MAN!

  • did u ever make a follow up to this video??

  • @molestthedecapitated - watch?v=tuZvFwV7xDo&

  • you said in one of your vids that PeelNseal and dynamat were the same, other then the Foil that covers it.. i just wanted to let it be known there is one more difference that is significant, The weight. more weight = less vibration. if you glued 20lb bench weights to the floor board of the van there will be no vibration. maybe if you have a scale you could make a vid on the difference weight of 1 sq inch of each? b.c the heavier material is gonna be the better choice for instillation right?

  • I WORK AT LOIWESSSSSSSS

  • @Stephen1991Drummer - Which Branch!?

  • @EXOcontralto its in canada.. maple store 2632

  • @Stephen1991Drummer - DAMN! That's sweet. I didn't know Canada had Lowes :)

  • Exo question my local home depot nor lowes has this stuff anywhere I can purchase online or do you have another alternative to this alternative trying to save money wherever I can with my install.

  • @IBleedMusick - Did you try google?

  • Soundproofing is fantastic! I always do it to my vehicles all the time. I don't expect similar levels of sound deadening as of a Rolls Royce standard but hey it works :D!

Nice martial arts manouvers at the end.

  • @ROCKSOLID19 - You know it man :)

  • @EXOcontralto Thanks. Have you noticed any reduction in road noise with Peel and Seal?

  • sounding like an idiot? really? i know its just a video and also just your opinion but its funny cause i dont give a fuck about my neighbors, they can come and try to uninstall my sub if they want but i still dont give a fuck :) its more of an image thing i guess... as long as it sound clean on the inside, im happy

  • @Sceno1 - I hear yah! -

  • CANI DOWNLOAD THIS SONG ANYWHERE I JUST LIVE IT

  • @streeatbeat - I wish, but I don't have these songs on my hard drive anymore.

  • suk my dick

  • @yadyads1 - Hopefully you accidentally typed that into the comment box instead of typing it to your girlfriend...

  • Love the Northeast! Doin' it right and doin' it big.

  • Hey EXO, my hometown lowes didnt have peel n seal so i picked up grace vycor aluminum flashing. Should be the same right? Pm if you have spare time. Awesome vids btw

  • MODELLING CLAY.

Stuff into cracks, joints, weld seams and such on your floors before you lay the mat down. Extreme heat can cause migration so keep it on the floors but it's cheap as dirt, couple pounds will do an entire car. try the quarter test with it.

  • why do i feel like this shit dont work

  • hey EXO can you watch my video of my 8 kicker on 1000 watts...its dodge ram bass

  • my trunk rattles like a mother. How do i stop that?

  • the "peel & seal work really good i help a friend of my to work on his car, thanks to u man!

u make him save a lot of money ^^

  • The lowe"s were aronud my area dont have Peel & Seal but they do have slef adhered flashing?

  • Does this stuff block out road noise? because my truck is tin and all i can hear is the road and exhaust - no music!

  • @bcboy787 Yeah thats another main purpose for Dynamat and any other sound deadeners, They keep road noise out, and your music in.

  • could not find this stuff for the life of me. so i just found the only flashing tape i could. works great when used with spray foam inside my trunk lids gaps. i should do one of them before and after vids. have my subs {2 x 12" MBquart reference} firing up at my back dash. [ lets face it. trunk space is required ] doing just my trunk lid increased the feel and sound of my subs noticeably. its like having them firing to the back of the car again. :) and now its the rest of the car i hear lol

  • OMG thank you SOOO much for this video! I have 2 sony xplods 15" subs in my trunk and the rattle was HORRIBLE. Just putting this around the edges of the trunk opening cut my trunk rattle down like CRAZY. GREAT STUFF! Now I just need to fix the rattle of my rear deck and I will have pure, clean bass :)

    KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!

  • nice im going to try this stuff mabey my damn trunk will stop ratteling i wana do my door pannals too when i get new speakers

  • Thanks for the Info!

  • How would you PREVENT you trunk from rattleing due to subs (Subwoofers)?

  • lol dang dude you must have had hella energy when you were little but great vid's dude

  • i bought this foam junk that you put under the carpet bout an inch thick .. works better than anything and way cheap at upolstery or carpet stores

  • dude thats hella smart thats for the idea

  • i dont get it :S where am i suppose to apply this material to just the holes on the trunk door or all of the trunk door??

  • at 36:00 seriously, is that my mom's car?

  • exo your channel is great!..im going to post a vid of my orion h2s 10.4 on a audiopipe 30001D

  • hey exo should i do 2 layer? is that koo?

  • when ur in the roofing section u can also use gaf torch smooth or mop. there asphalt rolls find the ones with adhesive backing. ther elike 4 feet tall by 8 yards in lengh for like 100 bucks. they also make them in granual which could be cut up for griptape on skateboards. lowes dont have it tho on home depot

  • okay lets be honest you were tapping it WAY lighter haha

  • my lowes doesnt have this anymore... bs

  • i love this stuff man and its unbelievably cheap THANK YOU EXO u the best. *EXO BASS GOD*

  • This stuff IS great! Thanks for showing this product to me!

The only issue I have with this video is when you were knocking on the covered and uncovered floor showing the difference in sound. You were knocking much harder on the uncovered floor, then lightly on the covered section.

Either way, it rocks, definitely made an improvement with the bass.

  • Just bought some for my brothers b-day. Works great man, he has a 15" in a ford focus and that thing cut the rattle in the trunk by a huge amount. Everything sounds cleaner and just all around great. That wooden tool was a pain in the ass to find though, lowes was all out, had to go to a cooking store basically the same thing but more <_<.

  • Great tip, thanks a lot Exo, you're the mannnnnnn.

  • dude this was the best shit i bought this summer i drove to Rodchester MN from the Wisconsin to pick up this stuff its totally worth it you sir are a true car audio mastermind

  • Lmao when he was knocking on the truck he hit the side w/ out it harder :)

  • @MrHypey dude no he didnt..WHAT THE FUCK are you LOOKING for shit to prove this guy wrong? the pitch is muffled on the part with the stuff on it. get a life

  • Ay I'm runnin two kenwood w3012 basically to the max and my trunk is killin me I fixed my license plate but my whole trunk lid is rattling and shaking like a mofo how well would this stuff help me out with that cause I sound like I'm dragging my car down the road

  • Great vid man!!

  • dude! awesome flips at the end!

  • Hey can u do a video on how to do a dynamat (or peel and seel) on the wheel well part of a trunk. If possible. Im planning on doin the trunk mat kit myself, and was trying to figure out the best method of doin the wheel well. Thanks.

  • okay...so i looked for that shit at lowes and homedepot and cant find it. do they still make it? and ive heard that it can smell when your car gets hot, have you noticed anything like that?

  • does the stuff come out like that or do you put the liquid down and something over?

  • how many layers should i put on?

  • i was looking for dynamat and i found this video and im just trying to stop the rattling in my saturn sl2's trunk u think ill need more then 1 layer on the trunk lid? how much did u use

  • Yeah noise polution, sound waves hitting the back of the speaker or leaking through the sub box, which are unwanted sound. ( the music being colored ) Not everyone want db's and some are just after clean bass. Some high end speaker manufactures place form into there boxes to eliminate high frequencies, we're talking about sub boxes, so low frequencies...........so why not put dynamat into the boxes to eliminate unwanted sound ??

  • I was thinking of putting dynamat in my sub box to stop colorization of the sound. Can you explain why this is not a good idea ???

  • @jeffy123ification - Colorization of sound?

  • @jeffy123ification

no dont dynamat your box get sheets of polyfill. its like pillow stuffing in sheets instead of fluffyness. just contact adhesive it in

  • @jeffy123ification I wouldn't put dynamat inside the box. Put both polyfil inside, put loose chicken wire or something over any port holes, and possibly staple carpet if your box is rattling *but better to add thicker wood instead*

  • @jeffy123ification It isn't going to do anything for you. All its going to do is reduce your overall interior sq by a small fraction. sound deadening is useful for things like doors and pretty much ANY flimsy metal inside your car. A properly made box with the proper wood already does what sound deadening does, adding it to the box does nothing at all, unless you want to spend more money on dynamat instead of cheap wood glue or "caulk" to fill the cracks of the box with........

  • @jeffy123ification ur high as shit ! dudee me three

  • @jeffy123ification This must be the double rainbow guy:)

  • holy sht nice moves mate

  • Hahaha badass ending

  • hey exo when u gonna post a new vid cant wait.. and i always wanted to ask u who got u in car audio???

  • wow HAHA nice ending!

  • wow haha nice ending!

  • Hey uh how do you get your back-windows to stop rattling? but also be able to open it now and then

  • It doesnt work anywhere near as well as dynamat. The foil top layer is tissue paper thin, and that is where most of the sound deadening comes from. Dynamat, Raamat, Hushmat, all of the high end brands have a top layer that is FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRR thicker.

But its cheap, and if you use 3-4 layers, it works ok. But by that time, you could have just bought decent stuff.

  • Hey EXO..with the peel n Seal how is the smell when in the car does it go away or does stay

  • @castilloa089 It goes away in a couple days.

  • nice man i'm planning a new build, think i'm gonna use this stuff. thanx again for the help, exo, you my boy.

  • ugh looks like your not hitting as hard onthe peel and seal

  • Hey EXO, what do you think about sealing up the inside of my sub box with this stuff?

  • @SMGD22 - Not a good idea

  • @EXOcontralto what would happen if i sealed my box up with the ppel in seal

  • @EXOcontralto To get rid of some rattle between my door speakers and the actual door itself, I was wondering which to use, some plain Jane old foam, or some peel and seal with an X cut in it so my speaker can rest on top of it?

  • @SMGD22 what would be the point of that?

  • @MrMortenST Before I really knew anything about it, I just figured it might work, now I know all of the reasons why it won't. I did my whole trunk and floorboard.

  • Hey EXO what do you think about doing the inside of my sub box with this stuff?

  • Does it just litterally just peel and stick? no blow dryer?

  • Hey man you are great!

I own a BMW e36 and I want to put this staff on my car . The problem is that I am from greece. Do you know any site so that I can buy it and ship it to me? And if you could tell me what's the price that would be good to buy.

    "Thankz men!!!"

  • Buying this stuff tomorrow, thanks for the tip! Crazy ninja shit too haha

  • jus picked up my peel & seal bout to get to work good lookin out

  • very helpful!!!

  • Hey Exo! did you use heat when you installed the peal&seal?

  • hey a lil update for u exo home depot sells the exact same stuff but labled diffrent and the same price its called quick roof same length and width same price just incase people don't have a lowes and maybe a home depot

  • how much of this would i need for an suv???

  • @afroman0794 - depends on what you plan on doing with it - You really only need to deaded certain areas - But if your doing the whole thing, be prepared to buy over 100sq feet

  • ok ok.. YOU ARE FUCKING AWESOME you skate you are a bass head AND your a NINJA uve got it all buddy:P

whats your job if you dont mind me asking?

  • @Snoopii211 - Thanks Bro! :P

    I'm a case manager =)

  • Exo do i just put peal and seal on the bottom then put the carpet i took out back over it?if you reply it will help :)

  • ok so like 2 hours ago i installed peel and seal in my trunk and driver door and thers so much of a diffrence now tomarow doing my passenger door peel and seal is the best 4 the price i only bought 2 rolls and i did my trunk and half my driver door with one roll i only paid 38$ total well worth it and i did 2 layers in my trunk 2

  • Been a little while...with some warm days; an update on how well it's holding up would be awesome.

I also found something similar...but rubber based @ 43 mil. Would love for you to test it.

Nashua 360-45 Heavy Duty FoilMastic Butyl Rubber Tape

  • Thats bad ass ima

Do that to my car and truck

  • car name ?

  • Holy shit, your an audio ninja and a real ninja!

  • Do you know if this will reduce the loudness inside the car of the exhaust for a gutted trunk? Or did you just use it for rattling sub?

  • Exo you are hilarious brother!

  • does it matter which way u lay it ...

  • hay man can you check out my vid and tell me what you think??

  • Thanks for the vid man. Now I know what to use to kill all rattles and shit in my Exploder. :D

  • thank you for putting this vid up, was looking for an good alternative. dynamat is ridiculous!

  • nicley done wit the peel and seal ....beem looking for some thing like hush matt without all the coast ...i think they make some thing like this for tractor trails when they get rips in the side of them they use someting that looks like daymate with no name to it ....

  • what is your song u play at 1:44 :DDD

  • What about a CLOSED Trunk like back seat cant go down with amp back there will amp over heat or will it breath ok still im Sold on getting some to do it if its NO worries mate back from you LOL ++++10 DUde im comming to you with my Audio Q&A ur the man Fucking Einstein Of AUDIO PATENT PENDING FOR MY FRIEND EXO 2010 lol U DESERVE THAT TITLE

  • i dont get it, so do you paint it onto the floor? or is it like a glue, then put foil-ish stuff on top

  • Good idea I have been working on my trunk for like the last week im gonna post a video when im completely done you should check it out..

  • I found peel and seal to have a really strong smell and it didn't stick very well as it is always about 10 degrees hotter in our rides..... not to take anything away from you EXO it just didn't work out for me... no disrespect.. I would totally check out FATMAT!!! They sell it on Ebay for around $160 shipped and you get 100square feet.... EXO IS GOD!

  • thanks for the tip man! ive been looking for a cheap alternative for dynamat. I went and picked up a few rolls today and will be installing it soon, ill let you know how it worked out for me.

  • just got done with my peel and seal install on my rear seating area and where my speakers go and it was a pain in the ass but it was worth it in the end

  • Hey EXO I went and looked at some of this stuff and I think im going to use some of it soon, but I have another question do you know a good place where I can get some 0 gauge wire at? I want to do the big 3 and run some to my truck also.

  • exo be careful bro.... down here in the carolinas that stuff will come right off because of the heat. i put 2 roles on and in a couple weeks it was clumped up laying on my trunk. ill make a vid of it soon, my camera broke

  • Has anybody noticed an asphault smell with peel and seal? Im considering peeling and sealing my doors. Any reviews?

    Exo? Anything?

  • @xspyderguyx - I only used it for my floors, and it worked amazingly well - I had a lot of unnecessary surface resonance and it eliminated it 100%

  • thanks for the vid im allways down for cheep stuff that works just as good and work smarter not harder lol i went to homedepot and got some stuff not peal and seal but same 6in by 25ft and for roofing and all that ill try to make a b4 and after vid

  • i used this peel and seal and it rocks.. it works better than anything ive used before!! hope your build goes well.

  • @RinO13theballa - Awesome man! I'm glad you liked! :D

  • Hay I put it all in it did sound great and Easter Sunday i was showing off to my cousins and blew my 12inch Audio Que :( it makes me wish it would have blew before spending money on peal and seal that extra 70$ would have come in real handy.

  • Deffenatly getting that for my hach bro. im glad u posted that ;)

  • Just a few things about deadening. The purpose of all deadeners is to lower the resonant frequency of the sheet metal so it it will flex at a frequency outside the range of human hearing. (Below 20hz). The deadener accomplishes this by adding weight to the sheet metal. However, in EXO's case, a cheaper and simpler solution would be to glue some weights to the floor of the car. This will do a better job at stopping rattle because it allows you to add more weight to the panel.

  • Peal and seal i got some at Lowe's for 14.93$ 2 day's after i watched this im taking your advice on that stuff haven't put in it yet but will soon enough. and was wondering if i should double layer the actual trunk hatch part?

  • @A1B3R7I - I only used it on my floors (I have dynamat on my hatch) so I wouldn't be able to tell you. Some people attached a video response who used it pretty much everywhere. Check in with them, and I'm sure they'd love to help!

  • Exo, I could be wrong BUT I was under the impression that that type of sound deadener had asphalt in it that will stink up your car very badly because it isn't specifically intended to be used for automotive use, so its smell isn't really a factor.

Has that stuff stunk up your van at all or would you deem it safe for a basshead's intentions of it?

    Thanks, you're the man.
