  • Truth be told, preferential treament is needed if the Malays even have a chance to compete against the Chinese, who are not natives but still somewhat rooted to the land. New Econ Policiy, in a way, is a public admission of inferiority, but ist quite justifiable for preservation and progression of the Malay race, at the expenses of others. The REAL solution is SEPARATION away from Malaysia into another Singapore like state, and all Malaysians will have a choice beetween the 2.

  • it is racist cina in Malaysia. If you hate Malaysia you can go back to your native country China or India.

  • @srkkroh791 That is so typical of you to say. Isn't it racist in itself to refer to an entire "race"? PS: Malaysia needs to realize that race does not exist, and it's a backward concept invented by the first anthropologists when trying to define human beings by groups. Now modern scientists realize that it is an incredible flaw in scientific history.

  • if you say, you're gonna get left behind, then work hard la!

  • this chao talks so slooooow, irritating

  • fuck the chinese.

  • Every time someone here in the US claims that the fall of whites to a minority status will ease racial tensions, I am reminded of places like Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and South Africa, among others. The truth is that multiculturalism never works well, and usually leads to the unproductive majority plundering the productive minority (after the elites who put such policies in place get their cut, of course).

  • Native Malays do not dismantle Aff. Action, because the chinese and hindu in Malaysia brought by the British colonialists don't feel loyalty to malaysians and won't return you the favor once they are in power, you'll be slaves in your own country. They think malays, like thai, filipino and indonesian are racially inferior and deserve nothing.

  • @whatsinthatbox That is besides the case. Consider the fact that the Chinese and Indians and other minorities go in par with the majority Malays in perfect equality and see if those negative attitudes will change. This Aff. Action is what is dividing us as Malaysians. This Aff. Action JUSTIFIES the assumption that the Chinese and Indians are not wanted as a part of Malaysia. Think about that for a moment before you spread such ignorance.

  • the affirmative policy has become primary hotbed for corruption seeking leaks in the widening gap between races.

We are the alpha predator in 50s -60s. Now we're the scavenger in Asia, tell me about it. Because people advancing too fast than us did? or shouldn't we compare to other nations? play the conservative card instead.

  • The malay are not racist but the malay goverment is......can any malay in here can answer me.....why u guys can get 10% off for buying houses...what call bumiputra....we chinese born in malaysia in not bumiputra?? if malaysia been attack by any country like indonesia that doesnt like malaysia so long,do u think we chinese malaysian will just stand aside n wont help??

  • @WGR7486 you'll help yourself to looting the country and migrate elsewhere with the weath you have squandered. Your existence is is othing more than profit motive. That is why NEP is needed to conterbalance your type of greed

  • The NEP is rubbish, it only really helps the powerful, how stupid are people. We need a secular, multicultural and tolerance society and government. We need to do what they have done in Singapore and make English the working language, a neutral one. The poor should be helped, regardless of race, in education, housing etc. Why should Malays get special treatment because they're indigenous, are not people born in Malaysia not of Malay race deserving. This is not democracy, it's quasi apartheid.

  • NEP is outdated. remove it and malays will progress.

  • Malay are smart... Only UMNO are stupid

  • Sorry man only a hand full of Malay are smart in Malaysia, the rest belong to UMNO = Uneducated Malay National Organisation.

Problem is, the people who accused the Malays of being racist are bloody racists themselves. Perhaps even worse. They are just using the "racism" excuse to get to their goal. Too bad the Malays are not smart enough to realise this.

  • malaysians Kick these Hindus out of your country ...look how muslims are treated in India even thou they actually belong there ...unlike these indians in malaysia who are immigrants!!!

Gujrat thousands of muslim killed ...by hindu extremists

everyday communal violence by hindu Bjp inspired kill and rape women and children

the chinese killand toture Uighurs every single day ...xinjiang was not part of China and was forcefully integrated... while the chinese in malay are immigrants lol!

    peace

  • u end with peace??

i m neither indian nor chinese.... but think that if a developed country like malaysia....

should follow example of those countries that u have stated, is that the right thing to do? or lead by example...showing diplomacy, culture, education and development?

  • benci betul aku tengok keling2 racist yang mengaku melayu nih..

  • ramrulezmax! bro... u give me hope.. u give me hope.... :-) thank you

  • 1969 was spurred by the government stoking racial tension. It's still happening today in the govt-owned newspapers. Fortunately Malaysians are much smarter now to buy the propaganda.

  • All these problems stem from British mis-rule during Colonial times Uganda, Fiji, Guyana, Trinidad Malaysia Sri Lanka India, the whites wanted cheap labour so they imported desperately poor Indians & Chinese to work plus punish what they considered lazy locals (who refused to work 4 pittance) the Whites rewarded the Coolies with mission schools free land etc Fuck the evil whites for changing racial make up of these places it helped to create civil wars & genocide.

  • idiot.... the ethnic indians and chinese have been there for centuries. racism in malaysia exists because of institutionalised racism on the part of the ethnic malays. no other reason... do your homework before spouting off BS.

  • R u saying Chinese and Indians cannot be racist towards local muslims & never have been in the past ??

  • Nobody can ever be racist. Malaysians including bumiputeras ( Org Asli, Malays and indigenous ppl in Borneo ) are the same. We want a fair-er government. The government supposed to take care the welfare of all Malaysians. All poor people should be safeguarded. They are assets to the country. The government should help them regardless of race. I dont believe in blaming the past but what we can do to change presently for a better future.

  • not chinese, they were brought over by the british to change the demographic make up of the country. This is typical british terrorism on Tamil people.

  • A true man! that's what messed up trinidad & guyana today. they couldn't try that with Jamaica though...we weren't having that!

  • This so called Affirmative Action NEP program is nothing more than official race based institutionalized discrimination favoring the majority who control politics against the minority.

  • Chinese in Malaysia are like Manchu in china 300 years ego.

  • The presenter (Fauziah Ibrahim) is beautiful.

  • Is China Capitalist now?

  • no it is socialist. china today is practicing free market economy not democracy.

  • China actully is a capitalist,,, they slowly moving into free market! But the Chinese official still claim themselves as socialist!!

  • its funny that the protesters did not get beaten by police cause that is what happens in America.

  • actually they are talking about Malaysian not the U.S............ lol

American cops are nice,, but if you try thing funny they will shoot you!! but obey the law you would be fine!!

  • I recommend everyone to read Kua Kia Soong's book 'May 13: Declassified Documents on the Malaysian Riots of 1969'. It is a brilliant revisionist account of the real high political motivating forces behind the May 13th riots.

  • Hail hail PAS !

Chizi PAS , the purest party in Msia.

Down with BN , PKR , DAP .

  • penang same as kelantan . but the 4% chinese in kelantan can still live well.

  • in the human world all is the same even u also not just chinese.

  • NEP's intentions were good but instead of creating a fairer system and moving towards meritocracy, it did the opposite: Lazy got bribes and Stupid were promoted (even CEOs). How do you motivate people? Makes things easier or give them challenges? What example is the Gov setting?

  • The media is still owned by the same people - idiot !

  • This Azeem does not know what he is talking about. What he is saying is so shallow just and he seems to be still having the denial sysdrome. Also, I would call it the systematic propaganda of the mainstream media over the past 30 years have definitely brainwashed him alright. What a wash out dude!

  • They may strip the NEP but the replacement could be even worse !

    Beware .

  • "The Liberal Mind-The Psychological Causes of Political Madness". Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

    •creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;

    •satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;

    •augmenting primitive feelings of envy;

•rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.

Available on Amazon. Sounds like who...?

  • Opposition partyd rules Malaysia esp DAP :D

  • YMR,

Quite obvious what is happening , if and when BR gets a Parl. majority then the Manchu will be PM , who else - already preordained by the Jews.

Will life get better for all races who oppose , corruption , NEP , abuse of power etc - we have to wait and see .

It may turn out to be just as bad.

  • You got the point.

But it is good to have 2-parties alternate ruling in a country.

Or even a strong opposition will help to check the activities of government.

Corruption is everywhere, lesser degree of corruption is a blessing to the country.

NEP must be stripped. But, they will come out with something else.

The time when Malays are satisfied with what they have, probably they will say : enough is enough.

BUT do you think human greed have an end?

Lets just hope for the best.

    Cheers.

  • We can do more than hope , we can expose all the fakes whether they are Gov or oppos.

And we can lead our lives as we want and not by the dictats of incompetent / corrupt politicians of all colours.

Just because you are a woman and /or you have a paper qualification don't mean you are a good representative.

Most Mysians remain effectivey UNrepresented despite all the bullshit hooha about how great the BR has done .

  • Let the Malays choose whatever religion to practice. No more hypocrites. Leaving Islam must not be punishable by imprisonment of 2 years. Let the word Islam be deleted in the IC of those who leave Islam. Freedom of religion. No more robbing of dead bodies on dubious claim of conversion to Islam. No more subsidies to the haj pilgrimage. No more inflated costs of Mosques projects. No more teaching of killings in Islam. Stop calling Allah to kill.

  • What success. when you got BNpuki on 1 side and fuckingbloggers becoming MPs on the other.

    Are we that desperate ?

  • The Malays, Chinese, Indians and the minority ethnic groups must learn to network to work together for success.

  • Do now ? election already over lah , bodoh .

  • Smart question. Answer: If Sabah & Sarawak have decided to switch camp or defect. Then, (Anwar/opposition parties) Barisan Rayakt will have more parliamentary seats than Barisan Nasional. Question: If BR has more parliamentary seats than BN, who will be the government, & who will be the Prime Minister? KLguy133 please answer. Reminder to whoever rules Malaysia, please: 1)anti-corruption; 2)treat all races fair & equal; 3)strip NEP; 4)strip ISA; 5)what else? Please answer.

1)Is the development in East Malaysia way too slow compare to the development in West Malaysia?

2)Is the appointment of Ministers from East Malaysia not in line to the parliamentary seats?

3)Do you want a fair & equal government?

4)Are you satisfied so far with BN/UMNO government?

The future of you & your children are the most important factors.

If you need to make a wish, do it now.

If you need to make a move, do it now.

  • i don't know what to say but when Univ Malaya was controlled by Chinese many years ago.. Malay students failure rate were high. However the very same student who were sent again to study in UK managed to passed.

  • yeah man , after 50 years , we still suck , our politicians all suck no matter what the party label reads ! ha ha

  • yeah man , after 50 years , we still suck , our politicians all suck no matter what the party label reads ! ha ha

  • Aft 50yrs and still need to be on a crutch?I can accept giving chance or handicap for a REASONABLE amount of time to play catch-up.But aft all these yrs,the policy has diverged fr its purpose. For those who insist NEP to continue, ask yourself in your heart,y?Is it fair?Especially after all these yrs of chances? How would u feel if FOR E.G.,u live, migrate, etc to country X n they say,"Oh since ur of ethnic Y,u hv to pay extra 7% for d purchase of land/property.

  • Maybe but that SG woman still sucked.

  • Reid's commission........my bad.....correct the previous response

  • This is an equalization of everything. Right nw it's fair game. No more crying back to the government after 50 years of support. You guys should go back to your text books...Cobbold Commission recommended that NEP be ended after 15 years of independence

  • the quality of Malaysian politics sucks , politicians in general are scumbags .

Don't expect things to improve so much just because there is a change of guard.

Al J should also investigate the Zionist angle in this , they backed both sides as they always do.

    Hail hail Palestine.

  • MCA - protect Chinese

    MIC - Protect Indian

    UMNO - Protect Malay

We are Malaysian, who protect us? That's why we kick them out. You can't distinguish a corrupted man by it's colour ....

  • malays cant survive in the world if they dont dare to compete with others ...

  • The fucking interviewer did a bad job - why say " everybody expected racial riots " after the elections , when clearly NOBODY DID.

Your stupid SG woman is recklessly inciting racial tension.

    She's crap.

  • Yeuuuuuuh, Look Im not necessarily arguing for afirmitive action. MY POINT IS look at it from the angle of those who have religious obligation to not trade in gambling, liquor, pig, & bank interest to understand their perspective of why free trade in their country can mean unfair trade. That's all I'm saying. Believe me, I see your arguements, not that I agree with them, but I acknowledge them. I just ask that you acknowledge the other side of the coin. Now you could give me a thumbs down. lol!

  • That Muslim Pakcik Halal Butcher was right. Give them a chance first. Voters can always choose in the next general election.

  • Malaysians have reclaimed its rights, it's now boss of the nation! Democracy is well n alive!

No more race-based politics, move forward now as one nation with only one race -the Malaysian race!

Only those who has entrenched interests are not accepting the unprecedented verdict

See things with NEW EYES, and, hear things with NEW EARS ! this is a new dawn for us Malaysians!

  • What kind of unity we have? We never think about helping each other to show this unity to the world. Chinese help Malays, Malays help Indian, Indians help Chinese, Chinese help Indian, Indian helps Malays and Malay helps Chinese.. whatever it is.. But the Malays are so arrogant and with a big pride. Malays, don't be afraid, we will help u.. Malaysia for Malaysians... and no 1st class or 2nd class citizenship. let us reform or perhaps end NEP!!

  • Why are the chinese dominating the business sector? because they have to work hard, my nephew got good grades in stpm 4.0 gpa but got turn down from the local unis a few years back for a medicine course but luckily he got a scholarship to the UK. I'm not racist but his malay friend who did worse(3.3 gpa) than my nephew got a place to do medicine and I know because I personally asked for their results and this is the truth, both of them apply for the same uni. Hope there is change for everyone.

  • Your nephew's personal story does not explain things on the macro socio political level. The fact that you state that "the Chinese are domiting the buisness sector points to an inequity in economic status among differnt ethnic groups in Malay society. Looks like change for everyone means continual domination by the Chinese of the buisness sector. look at my comment bellow, it explains things on a macro social scale than your nephew's personal story to shed light on what hapnin on the macro scale

  • Chinese dominance in various sectors including the business sector are the byproduct of the Malay MAJORITY complacency and dependency on the Chinese to carried out the necessary steps for the sectors to function efficiently and there are many example of this like the Alibaba concept in the construction sector. The restrictions you mentioned are in my honest opinion convenient excuses, I have known many Malays Muslims who PERSEVERED despite their restrictions and have become successful in life.

  • there shouldn't be religiously biased legislation of any kind

  • I think thats up to the Malay

  • It's not simply religious based. It's health and social wellness based to ban alcohol, cigarettes and gambling.

  • I did not say it is "simply religious based". I said that "to say the tensions are race related is a reduction".

  • mrdhikrbeads, I don't disagree with you. You're absolutely right that alcohol and gambling-related business being legal for the non-Muslims in Malaysia has led to Chinese domination of the tourism industry, as an example.

My second response was more toward honestchrismcg.

  • It seems like many Malaysians' mentality still focus on competition among the races and have not realized that the world has been changed and globalized and this kind of mentality will hinder Malaysia's vision to be a developed country.

  • It seems like many Malaysians' mentality still focus on competition among the races and have not realized that the world has been changed and globalized and this kind of mentality will hinder Malaysia's vision to be a developed country.

  • @spspheishan you are 100% right. Thumbs up for you.

  • @spspheishan

True, but equality between the races is a key to development as well, correct? Having one race lag behind the rest is bad for the country. Domestic peace first before globalization, right?

  • Im very frigging confused n it makes no sense, how on earth d new elected CM of Penang Lim Guan Eng who used to fight for malay-muslim rights can betray them now. Apparently, Malaysians r still unaware (tidur) that this is a punishment from God by keeping their mouth shut last time of what caused Guan Eng a year in jail to now in CM chair. Its shown n proven by a passage from Holy Koran: "God loves to those who act justly to others," (Koran, 60:8).

  • Thanks Allah, NO more racial to racial, racist policies n discrimination in Penang. The basic needs go to d poor without distinction of their race. Therefore, I hope with this NO New Economic Policy, d interests n d rights of d crying poor n needy Malays, Chinese, Indians n others will be protected. God Bless!!!!

  • Well shame on malaysian that because they give so much power to non malayian and non muslim people. In the USA and other western countries muslims even can not think for running the public office because they have to prove thier loyality.

  • We have Muslim politicians in America now though.

  • It's ashame of malaysia.. you guys to good to be the true. Try to be democratic but banning your own public voice.

Its seem a racist country in Asia!

  • why can't the U.S. have journalism like this?
