  • Got to be some of the funniest shit i've seen in my life !!

  • wtf

  • Love it !

  • PLAY STAY SHUN!

  • 4:50 for famous Hardcore samples.

  • Hell yeah, Hellfish - Wolfman

  • @LeCaptainOfficiel oh yes :)

  • Utterly farkin' mental

  • Weird to think the guy who did this went on to do the video for Coldplay's 'Dont Panic', one of the most placid and lovely songs ever!

  • It seems that this short animation seems to display one man's journey into paranoid schizophrenia and madness very well. This is one bizarre and surreal animation.

  • Hellfish - "Wolfman"

  • LMFAO This is better then the 2009 movie.

  • I remember our teacher showing this to us in Animation class and one of my classmates said "This guy has a serious moon fetish." I lol'd.

Best bit is the end with the rocket. It's so abstract.

  • 16 people need to sit in my huge leather armchair.

  • Deciever & Ophidian - Wolfman

  • @MaikelMillionaire

I totally get this. I love that mix.

  • love it,,,,

  • I'd likely like it better if the animation was different. This style... it just looks poorly drawn and cartoony. I know it's just their style, but the style 'looks' bad, to me, personally.

  • @RatongaBruiser god forbid a cartoon look cartoony.

  • @cradleoffulci

It's all opinion. And there are levels of cartoony. This one is VERY flat, looks somewhat child-drawn on purpose, and the anatomy is purposely out of whack. That's there style, and all I'm saying is, it's not my thing. Cartoons 'can' have semi-correct anatomy and flowing movement. but it's simply my taste, why do you feel the need to make a remark?

  • Meh.

I'm sure it's full of all kinda of Symbolism and Meaning and stuff, but...

    Meh.

  • i am the universe. i am the brilliant dog.

  • Ha Ha I first saw this years ago on channel 4 about 11pm and nobody belived me...

    Thanx Ytube i have proof....

Yep purse of cocks thats it.... Bend your mind around that..

5 Star wierdness by Tim Hope

  • Lol...can someone explain this to me?

  • maybe is a metaphoric way of saying that when you finally get to the best of your dreams, your human nature will destroy everything you loved when you were dreaming? it's a fantastic piece of art, i think it heads to a lot of interpretations.

  • Wolfman+rocket ship= EPIC

  • I remember watching this several years ago on late night Channel 4 and laughing my ass off. :P

No idea why I suddenly thought of it after all these years. Thank god for google.

  • What is the song the girl sings in this video? Does anyone know?

  • Remember watching the PS2 ads years ago when stoned with my cousin. We both watched it and said to each other at exactly the same moment "Did that actually happen?!" LOL. We told all our friends about the ad, and they never saw it, and thought it was just stoner hallucinations, until we all caught it one night completely sober (still just as disturbing). One of the best short animations ever.

  • Strange and beautiful.

  • I remember seeing this when C4 showed a season of animation; I stayed up to watch it all during the wee small hours. I do wish that animation, particularly British animation, was better championed by British TV.

  • Total agree with this comment

  • i have seen this one hundred times, and each time i do i am left asking the same question... "What in the name of good fuck have i just watched"! Brilliant!!

  • Mind was blown.

  • Watch when high.

  • anyone know where i can get a script for this? I would like to know what he is saying. I was hoping to do a monologue of this for a drama class

  • What did Tim use to animate this?

  • Why do you think anyone can comment on this?

  • Why not?

  • im gonna take a wild guess it was probably done in Adobe Aftereffects

  • @zekeyspaceylizard nope, 3dsmax

  • @cloneOfJames nope maya

  • @zekeyspaceylizard nope maya however it would be alot easier to do on after effects these days

  • "My home is a stinking purse of wretched cocks."

Is that what he's actually saying or am I mishearing it?

  • @Rossicspwn I think you're right....0_0

  • @Rossicspwn

    Indeed

  • i disagree . i think sony edited it perfectly..or who ever did it for PS2. its not as good as i remember it.

  • I AM THE UNIVERSE!

  • I CAME

  • dude, watching this video when on substances is the most amazing thing ever.

  • Agreed

  • Visually stunning, especially the forest and transformation part. "I am the UNIVERSE! I am OBLIVION! --BANG!--"

  • incredible !

  • wats the song the little girl sings cause i like it or did he just make it up

and i love the skitafrenic blur bit

  • This is genius.

  • The first time I saw this, I was absolutely astounded.

    Fantastic work

  • that was.....pretty good

  • That was amazing. I can't even describe it.... Don't even know what I'm thinking right now. lol. Impossibly unreal...?

  • this...this is wonderful.

  • no words... should have sent a poet..

  • You're the most retarded thing ever.

  • o srry my younger was on my account and rote tht

  • You guys inherit bad grammar or something? Is...your younger brother and your uncle the same person?....

  • Ripped off by the Mighty Boosh really, although they'd probably admit the debt they owe to Tim Hope. Thank you for posting this.

  • it is very similar to the "dawn of techno" clip, i don't think they ripped him off, seeing as he was involved in the making of the mighty boosh, it was more of a collaboration really.

  • I didn't know that it makes a lot of sense though. The character of the moon for instance, that must have been Hope-inspired. I consider this and the first two series of the Migthy Boosh to be high art.(Well some people consider an unmade bed high art)

  • Splendid!

  • did anyone hear the whole song?! where can i find it?!

  • Absolutely crazy shit right here!

  • Scariest thing I have ever seen

    But amazing

  • I AM THE WOLFMAN!

  • ps I AM THE BRILLIANT DOG!

  • kiss my white chalky lips.

i seen this when i was about 15/16 i think when it was shown as a short film late night on channel 4. i loved it so much.

I AM THE WOLFMAN!yOU KNOW ME!

  • I was about the same age. Greatest short film EVER!! Heheheh!

    My spit is CORRUPTION!!!!

  • i smash through planets!

  • ive seen david lynch accredited with making this. does he have affiliation with its creation? just the commercial maybe? where does he fit into this, or does he at all? very cool stuff

  • when David Lynch was making the PS2 commercial. I think he over estimated the popularity of this video so a lot of the people who saw the advert thought it was just some random abstract video for the PS2 having never seen the original Tim Hope Animation.

  • Makes you want to howl. Read my review in the Animation Blog, via my profile.

  • What an amazing animation style, a huge influence on the stuff I do,

Wolfman is one of the the best things on the web

  • The. best. thing. ever.

  • God, I want to run naked smashing through all the garden fences in my street punching old people and barking at the moon now.

  • Think i've watched this about a 100 times now and i still get goosebumps.

I cant even restrain myself anymore into shouting the entire "I Am The Wolfman" speech along.

    Pure manic brilliance.

  • Yeah I hear that. The narration is amazing. I saw this on the Beeb a few years ago and managed to record it onto VHS but I haven't had a video player for years.

It sure gets the goosebumps going.

  • 1:43 - 1:53 & 5:07 - 5:09, animated gifs anyone?

  • Does anyone know where can I download it in high-resolution and good quality?

  • Woa. Brilliant dog.

  • Thank you for posting this. Saw it on the Channel 4 animation season years ago and never forgot it. So simple but with such amazing power and beauty.

  • The soundscapes are so tight, the whole thing is so precise and well timed, with that last crescendo... I AM the UNIVERSE! It really calls up your power thirsty spirits. Great!

  • awesomenessss!!!! XD

  • this reminds me of the mighty boosh .. did they have anything to do wit this?

  • tim hope did the background projections for series two and three, i think

  • I felt my hair moving in the finale

    cool beyond words

  • fantastic. If anyone wants a hard copy go to the british animation awards site, its on dvd 03

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. I fell in love with Tims work since i first saw it, and i am truly glad that someone has FINALLY posted this.

  • I know how he feels.

  • A true genius! I AM the wolfman

  • I'm trying find reseach about him......

  • I've looked for something abouth him in Wikipedia, but there's nothing in there!

  • I met a friend of his who works at Adobe... apparently he made some music videos for this UK company then started teaching animation at some art school in the UK.

  • Yes, now I've heard about some Coldplay videos that were made by him!

  • Thanks so much for this posting - I've loved this from the moment I first saw it and have been looking for it ever since. Magnificent!

  • fantastic, really fantastic

    Incredible

  • this is amazing.

  • lookintomyeyesufag,go watch some cartoons made for kids, you obviously have NO clue what the real art of animation is.

  • This is a F****N great piece of animation, I tip my cap to you Timmy boy!!!!!!!!!

  • love the animation!

  • I was a semi-finalist in the Channel 4 MESH competition some years back. They showed us this as an example of 'how to do it right'.

And they were right - its bloody fantastic!

  • Sublime,

  • wow. it's like a nightmare

  • That's really one of the most amazing animations I've ever seen. Well done.

  • Very well, made good job!

  • This was taken from Channel 4's animation week YEARS ago, and I really want to watch all of the other animations that were on there too! If anybody knows or remembers... what were the other animations called?

  • what program was this made with?

  • this is the best thing my eyes have ever seen!

  • no i am the wolfman steve

  • little advice neva watch dis wen ur high will trip u out!

  • I did watch it high and its fucking nuts !!!

I love late night channel four animations, they always seemed to get the right balance.

  • I remember seeing this once when it was originally shown on ch4. I saw it the once and it really got to me. Specially when he starts screaming "I am the wolf man!". Good to see it again.

  • Those were good nights man....

  • Stroke my dusty brown face...

  • what does he saying at 04:57-59

"I hate being bored and like to blundge sun" ?

  • What animation is this called? I always liked this kind of animation. Great animation & narrating. :)

  • lovely work.

  • is that the same music they use in the mighty boosh ?

  • i dont know about the music, but they thats the same animator as the one who does all the animation for the mighty boosh, he's awesome. calm-a-llama-down.

  • Awesome!

  • I've loved this for around ten years. Goose-bump-a-go-go.

  • INSANE,

Reminds me of the tunnel scene in the original Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

  • i remember seeing this on channel 4 ages ago, when really early/late when they would saw animation like this. i remember at of all of them, this one really haunted me the most. esoecially when the moon sings.

  • The late night channel four....

    Those were good nights man....

  • can't... stop... watching...

  • i am the brilliant dog

  • This video used my brain as a punching bag and I loved every minute of it.

  • i am speechless of the awsome that this video is

  • one of my favourite shorts of all time. Shivers all over my skin during the transformation scene. Still can't explain it. Doubt Tim knew what he was doing when he made it - seems to be quite sexual? With the increasing size of telescope staring at enticing moon, the praying on the woman, the praying on the deer - the animalistic nature of it. It's like a reversion to animalism, no? Even if it isn't - it's fucking cool. Nuff said!

  • truly amazing i dont know what else to say

  • genius

  • an american gothic animation series 1998 version tv series it looks like that you watch every friday night on MTV Channel

  • Strange and new and weird and beautiful. The dialogue is lyrical, if not always sensical, the animation is bonkers, and the story has a manic pace. Awesome stuff.

  • I love this film. It's been a while since I last saw it.

I can so relate to the protagonist!

I fucking love the score as well.

    "I can PUNCH SUN!!!"

    Thanks for uploading - cheers.

  • its mint!!! hellfish remixed it for a tune whats fuckin mint aswell!!! LOOK AT ME!!

  • Over the past few years I've spent hours looking for this animation and never had any luck. It popped into my head again tonight, searched and here it is. Thanks for uploading it. It sent shivers down my spine for the whole 6 minutes and 20 seconds watching it. One of the best if not the best animations I have ever seen.

  • Absolutely masterful.

A beautiful piece - truely stunning. I love to bits, thank you so much for uploading it.

  • whoever posted this, i love u. now i haev somthing to actaully show for my presetion.=]

  • Better than Sony's version

  • Absolutley amazing, gives me a level of high, loved it.

  • loved it.

  • Nice. I like...
