It's a version of hiphop called lyrical hiphop.

If you want to go on SYTYCD though you're probably best off learning contemporary dance with a few ballroom classes thrown in. People with that background seem to do best on the show. Good luck with the dancing.

Well, These comments show who are the dancers and who are not. Real dancers can oviously see the amount of emotion and power in this dance! How strong their movements are and the story they are trying to portray is done so cleverly and effortlessly :D Im blown away in all honesty :O It really is amazing! x
