FCS Kali/CFMA Israel seminar winter 2006

I only learned the basics of FMA but from what I understand is FMA is a reactive and control type of MA. That's why the movements should be fluid and coordinated plus every part of the body can be used to counter attack. Initial attacks of FMA are mainly baits or traps which the FMA practitioner could capitalize.

Note: why not use it in MMA? MMA has rules as for in real fights there are none. Try a triangle choke on me and I'll grab your balls and squeeze it. Let's see who will pass out first.

why can't hernan cortes teach in the philippines? we need his help here more than israel... it's a shame how our kids are being so left behind in our own arts, instead he teaching the isreali apartheid arm forces! this is sad how they wana learn our martial arts!!!

@marumito Dude, FCS Kali already has an instructor in the Philippines, and one of the reasons that Rico Cortes is not teaching in the Philippines is because I think he's responsible for the growth of FCS in Israel. BTW, he's not a Filipino, so he's not really obligated to teach Kali in the Philippines, who already have so many teachers from the different styles of Kali/Arnis/Escrima.

@bullwanker - I Already Know he's not Filipino! all the more so, he should help Us here with the underprivileged kids like us in small towns & provinces.. Instead he teaches the Isreali Aparheid Armed forces!!! the only kids that benefit here are the Rich ones, foreigners bcoz they think they bring in the money! but our guro's & tuhons are too poor 2 say no. so we get marginalized with our own art! such a shame!!!

@marumito You must be some kind of Moro right (Stop with the Israeli hate comments already, Sheesh!)? You have a pretty weak argument for him to teach in the Philippines. In the first place, there is no shortage of instructors in the country(Balintawak, Lightning, and Modern Arnis Etc). And please stop saying the country is poor; you're not poor, you're just poorly led. Which is the real shame, as far as I'm concerned.

Can't a Kali guy be aggressive too....and remember he holds a deadly weapon as a bonos.----stupid question, of course any fighter can be aggressive but again if you get baited you lose your weapon, aggresion should be with a perfect timing...based on your statements...i think you are just a kid...

I really find it hard to understand you.

Kali guy can be aggresive and he has a weapon, I don't see the disadvantage.

If you can disarm someone good for you, but till then it doesn't matter what system you train.

Krav Maga is not coordination. It is more agressivity and burst to have control. If a kali guy fight against a Krav guy. The fight would be way harder because of the stands of each one. Krav would win because of the agressivity. More you are agressive more you win

U MAYBE MORE AGGRESSIVE BUT IF U COMMIT A WRONG MOVE U GET KILLED, KRAV GUY WOULD BE FAKED WITH A KNIFE ATTACK AND ASSUMES HIS BASIC BLOCK...WRONG MOVE. THINK ABOUT IT.

Being and Israeli I well a wear of the Krav Maga efficiency.

But you know.... Krav Maga guys gets cut too.... if the knife holder knows what to do.

oh yes you have to know thats going to happen you are going to get cut but if you are quick with your redirect and attack their is a very good chance you will end the fight at that...i am still lookin to train in the basics of CFMA
