It's especially important not to be keyturning and clicking off abilities in GW2 because getting hit in the back will do more damage. The people who can activate their abilities while turning with their mouse will be at an advantage over the people who have to momentarily stop their orientation in order to click a hotkey with their mouse, opening themselves up to getting outmaneuvered.

Mouse button 3, mouse button 4, middle mouse, R, F, V, T, G, B.

Z, X, and C if your fingers can reach down there easily. These are all incredibly easy to reach while using wasd and leave 1-10 for things you press less often like elite skills, consumables (in other games), weapon/attunement switching, etc.

There's no excuse to be clicking off abilities with your mouse when you could be using them to aim your camera and your character's facing.

Just to come with MY view on the controls: If you have played GW 1, the key's are no problem at all, due to 5 years of playing it and everything goes on instinct.

Second: If A and D are to strafe, then you can hotkey critical skills on E and Q.

FYI: I'm not taking anyone's side, everyone have theire own playstyle. So why not just accept that?

I've never seen PvP during a games Alpha state that looked this good. 5v5 is gonna be a blast and WvWvW is going to be amazingly fun. Go Anet!

Oh and to Noxdus you don't play shooters very often do you. Hitting a number key while using WASD is actually rather easy once you get used to it. I can go 1-10 while still moving in any direction with no problem, because I've been doing it for years. It's muscle memory now really.

I use my trusty Razer Naga at home, unfortunately they weren't available at the PvP demo's!

@Luqmas The problem is that there is no click to move and GW2 requires you to WASD and use skills simultaneously. You can move while casting so how do you use your #2 skill and move forward using W? I mean... if you are forced to WASD and use skills 1-5, it just becomes one giant clusterfuck with your left hand. That's why I presume people are clicking skills, so that they can move with WASD and use skills at the same time.

@ThoseWhoStayUofM In most MMO's, including Guild Wars 1, you could run forwards by holding both mouse-buttons at the same time. This way, you have your entire left hand to spam keybinds. It's the way I play anyway. Clicking your skills means your reaction time will be lower.

@Noxdus You can't fucking hit the "W" key and the "2" key at the same time without it being really fucking awkward. It's just not possible. Better yet, try hitting the "A" key and the "1" key at the same time. Enjoy that hand contraption. WTF! You're so full of shit. Try hitting any of the WASD keys and any number key past "5". You can't use the numpad because you have to constantly be rotating the camera to target people. Just try to use your hotkeys and you'll get "owned hardcore"... faggot.

W with middle finger, 2 with ring finger, easy as pie, you can also stretch your index up to 7 or 8 or your thumb to 9 or 0.

sO.. W and 2 Middle finger on W and ring finger on 2, A and 1 Little finger or Ring Finger on A and Middle finger on 1, Any of WASD and key past 5... Little finger on for example A and with the rest you can press any of the 1-9 numbers. Actualy not that hard :)

All you have to do is move the mouse while holding a mouse button to control the camera.... which leaves all 5 fingers on your left hand for hotkeys and macros, and 4 more fingers on your right to hit other mouse buttons. (my mouse has 9 buttons btw, not including the up and down scrolling on the wheel) You could have just asked me how to play with hotkeys more efficiently instead of raging at me for e-peen's sake. Forget that now.

As a neutral party, I'm sorry to tell you that Noxdus is right. Strafing however is often default on Q and E, not A and D, which normally turns the camera. So to run left/right while casting, you only need to hit either Q or E plus your skill. A lot more efficient than clicking with the mouse.

@Elidan1012 You can strafe simply by holding right click and using A or D but that is besides the point. Try hitting Q with your ring finger and 1 with your ______ finger. Please explain to me how you accomplish this without contorting your wrist in a very uncomfortable and, most likely, inconsistent way. I challenge anybody to explain that using actual logic and reasoning, instead of the all too familiar, "by not being a noob... hahahaha" bull shit. You can't. Why? Because you're dumb!
