THE BEST ETA AROUND NOW IS CODY SLAUGHTER...the guys in jumpsuits just look like a bunch of clowns and i fkn hate clowns..i'm knot a real big elvis fan but i can respect what he did for music..and i think being a tribute artist you got to find elvis in your soul, cody slaughter becomes elvis on stage i believe the spirit of the king of rock n roll enters his body on stage..his looks moves and voice are just elvis..
Did you know the first Elvis impersonators weren't actually Elvis fans? The whole thing started back in the late fifties - small venues, suffering due to the loss of customers (who were flocking to see Elvis) hadn't the money to hire the real deal, so they hired show men who would put on an "Elvis show" within the budget available to the venue. The whole thing arose from a supply and demand issue, and not a near religious fanaticism. That's what I find so interesting.
I agree strongly with sunberst1..90% of ETAs are making Elvis look like a joke .The kids of tday will think Elvis was sum sort of comedy spectical for people to laugh at..Its a crying shame they make him look silly...................................
Some of these guy seriously shouldn't even consider putting on a jumpsuit! Some, and I do mean "Some" tribute artists bring a respectful show to the stage and take the Elvis fans back in time and are enjoyable to see. But then there are the rest of'em who in my opinion make a joke out of Elvis' memory simply because they can make a buck doing it, or they actually believe they are just as good as Elvis was. It's a bit ridiculous and even embarrassing to watch!
