@orlygillot45 A/P was diconnected during the landing. A/THR was still engaged as you can see during final approach -> the green light on the left hand side of the MCP.
I'm watching this with keen interest after the Air France crash. So many precautions taken for the weather by these guys - how did the Air France jet find itself right in the middle of a thunderstorm like that?
A twin engine must have a suitable diversion airport at all times, if the weather is bad at that airport and there is no other suitable airport within the maximum allowed time (be it 120mins, 180mins etc) then the flight needs to return... that is checked as he enters the ETOPS area of his flight.
JustPlanes, looks like another excellent World Air Routes program! Thanks! Have you recently done something to improve the audio of the pilots talking to one another/intercom? It seems much clearer on most of the newer programs. Used to be only the ATC that was really load and clear, but now also the non-ATC communication between pilots doesn't get drowned out by the sound of the engines which is so much better.
better than airboyd!

Why does the pilot say, "with ETOPS, if the weather is bad they have to turn around and go back home" ??
