  • i don't know why, but this made me sad.

  • pause it 0:08 and you will see the homemade hose not even connected to the factory airbox inlet.

  • @unkonshus Looks pretty connected to me. Turns out it had to be cut shorter to make the turn up with the hose. In all honesty how can you judge what is connected and not through a video of lesser than great quality.

  • The plastic manifold is the best one. 1) It reduces intakes temps by being plastic instead of metal which will heatsoak. The plastic being the compound that it is will not hold the heat as much 2) The vertical intake allows for even air distribution to all cylinders. The horizontal metal one gives cylinder #4 lots of air and then cylinder #1 all the way at the other end has less air. Equal air makes everyone happy.

Turns out plastic intake is better, considering it's vertical design.

  • @SpecialForces9124 actually its the other way around, the ainr in the manifold moves quickly, so the closest cylinder doesnt get nearly as much air as the last one

  • u know what else you could do is replace your plastic intake manifold any saturn u see with that vertical pipe is a plastic manifold....i know this because my gf as smart as she is made the dumbest move ever and bought the same year saturn and i found it as plastic fuckin poorly built engine

  • @diaryofthedead most vehicles today incorporate a plastic intake manifold and valve covers you moron. just goes to show, whatever shitload you're driving is behind the times.

  • dang i like what you did to the saturn engine how much did you spend and also the light are sick great job i have a saturn too but still planing on what to start fixing first

  • Good

  • btw i just went with the bomz short ram intake you can get on ebay for about 50 bones shipped.. not knockin on you dude cuz i appriciate a good DIY, but sometimes its just easier to go with what is there. btw, look into the dog-bone upper transmission and lower engine mounts.. and keep your serpentine belt fresh. i got prolly a good second in throttle response from that.. oh, and i got the 5 speed too!

  • Ah very nice. Yeah, for stock fog lights it's a little different. All I would do is move it to the right side of the front grill area (just left of the fog light hole).

Yeah I know a good deal about the mounts, I have some custom ones headed my way. That and I have the parts for my 5 speed swap. Should be fun haha

  • I spent 10 bucks on my intake, you wasted your money bro. DIY is probably the best rout as it saves money and performs just the same :) I'm not use that cheap crap he's using in the vid though.

  • eh. to each their own. i prefer the shiny polished aluminum look i got with mine...

  • Mine is shinny, plus i painted it with some glossy spray paint and it looks pretty good.

  • @koolBOY8323 lol, i made my own short ram intake. im pretty sure its too big to give max power (starts at 4" at the filter, goes to 3" halfway down). but throttle response is really good

  • i checked out your site about this. cool idea. except that if youve got the stock foglights like i do, this doesnt work. got any more cool ideas?

  • this is the dumbest shit

    saturn? really?

  • I guess you haven't seen what happens to a lot of Saturns in the tuning world.

They take nicely to turbos. ;)

  • And what do you drive

  • Some impressive things have been done with saturns man. Heck, my lightly modified saturn beats all stock mustangs that aren't v8, and it beats the 4.6 and the 5.0 stangs! All I got is a K&N air filter and a header back exhaust! No tuning or nothing.

    Saturns are very venerable cars...

  • Yeah if your rocking a turboed sc2 and getting 300 bhp you'll be pulling on most sport cars out there

  • i need this .. lol where u get it

  • The only problem with that is that you could easily suck in water. At least I would think.

  • It's actually hydrolock proof. Think about how far water must go to get to the throttle body and ultimately the engine. Up 3 feet of hosing, then to the airbox (which has DRAIN HOLES), through a filter, and through the entire length of the pipe. It may seem like it at first but it has no chance of getting water in.

  • I was just thinking of the flooding we used to get back home...didn't really put much thought into it, other than I knew we got some floods and with those floods people did get water in their engine without CAI's, LOL.

  • If I had to guess, the flooding probably wet their ignition system first before it got into the intake system. I see it a lot around here when it floods, intakes are all mighty and high but yet they go through thinking it's fine and the engine cuts out. Open the hood and let the engine dry out the wires. lol
