@jwdub75 Please reread my comment more carefully. I wrote I don't like the hymn, that means the music, not the words. It was a poor choice of music for our national anthem.

While I'm a staunch American, I really never liked this hymn. Too difficult to sing for the average person. Alas it is now part of our heritage and unlikely to change.

alot of people forget that this song was written at a time when americans were fighting for theyr freedom against tyranny....now, when i see the flag of america, i think of tyranny....our government and the people that support it, have destroyed america...this is no longer a land of the free, it is the land of oppressive government and dictatorship...a land where the government is the master, and the people are subjects of the master...the opposite of the america over 200 years ago

For our American friends (the photo is the National Cathedral in Washington) You can download the mp3 for free from our website - the audio's higher quality and it doesn't have the intro.
NOTE: A few people have asked why we're recording national anthems. They actually are hymns by definition, which is why every country's national anthem is included in the hymn books printed in that country.
