I really liked the first one, regardless of how broken it was in some areas. Both are gems, but the second one is nearly flawless. I loved this review, hit on all the points I wanted to hear about and a few I didn't even notice.

Also, you don't know wtf vertex maps are. If you meant bump maps or normal maps, Kameo pretty much lacks both of those. Yes there are lots of characters on screen but Kameo isn't the first game to have a lot of enemies on screen...

Gears of War 2 is a good looking game, but not the best out there. AC2 is identical on both systems. Thus far, Uncharted 2 is the game to beat with respect to graphics and physics engine--not to mention gameplay. There are so many things going on as you play... fucking crazy. You just have to play it to see it. Highly recommend.

Good discussion. Some of the things that I kinda had issue with AC2 were:

1) The story was really confusing after you left for Venice. I mean, I understood that he first assassinated to avenge his family, but it just didn't do a good job of why you were assassinating everyone else after

2) *Spoiler* Why was there only 1 mission with the flying machine? Kind of disappointing since it was very fun

3) The ending was a total mindfuck. I'm not gonna spoil it, but it totally came out of left field.

the thing about the ps3 version is that developers who are somewhat inexperienced with developing for ps3 dont know that it takes more effort, because there more shaders and coloring effects and those dont all transfer from the 360 version, so its not the console, its the developer. im not trying to fan any flames here, im just saying, with a little bit of effort this game could have looked as beautiful as killzone 2

The 360 does usually have better filtered textures and the AA due to the eDRAM but I really do think Uncharted 2 contests to that. That game has some of the highest res and sharpest textures on console.

AC2 sucks me into the experience, just by doing that I know that what I'm playing is pure quality. It's all in those tiny beautiful details... Like when (small spoiler) Ezio gets his first cape, everytime it folds over his shoulder, he shruggs it back so that it hangs straight again. That's the small stuff, from which I don't know if most people notice it, but it does totally suck me into this beautifully worked out game world, not to mention all the historic details... Lots-o-love went into AC2

I'm glad the Assassin's Creed series is starting to get some respect now that they enhanced the game so much more from the first one. I was a big fan of AC1, and while I admit there was a lot there that did need fixing game structure-wise, I'd still say Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite games this generation despite it's faults due to the storyline and some great character development in Altair throughout. Assassin's Creed 2 did enhance everything about the first one though I really love it

Agree 100%. But the one thing I feel needs mentioning is that the first AC did in fact do a handful of things better than AC2. The sequel is certainly a bigger and better game, but there was something a lot purer about the AC1 experience. And to get all these amazing new additions into the new game they had to sacrifice some of that purity.

That said, I absolutely love this game, and it's easily my GOTY.
