  • Such a nice song... must be one of his most personal one!

  • This song is sheer poetry - expresses the sentiment of many so perfectly

  • he looks kind of like a cross between thom yorke and jarvis cocker

lol what am i talking about

  • Tiene un gran registro de voz!

  • I flew from Winnipeg, Canada to see him on the Regeneration tour. Met him after the Leeds show, and told him how far I'd come...

His response: "I think you're mad!"

    Whatta guy.

  • I remember seeing this performance. I think this is the most amazing song they did.

The sunrise, celebrating the end of a century and a half of violence. Let it never happen again in our lifetime.

  • Thank you for posting this, one of their best songs. He just sings the hell out of this one doesn't he? The last part hits me hardest when Neil sings "It's the sunRIIIIIISE?" it just reduces me to bits.

  • merci beaucoup !

  • Je ne les avait jamais vue interpreter cette si belle chanson en live.Merci pour l'envoi.

  • I love you Neil. xxx

  • Genius. Goosebumps.

  • Sublime. One of my favourite Divine Comedy tunes. Brings a tear to my eye whenever I hear it.

  • Love this - thanks for posting!

  • Perfect Ebayer, Good communication and delivery. Would recommend A++++

  • This is in my top three divine comedy videos. Thank you for this.

  • tra buckley e york

  • amazing song, fantastic melody, great vocal

  • I thought exactly the same!...

The funny thing is that is the first song and the first time I ever heard this band!

  • Such a beautiful voice, I could listen to him sing forever.

  • did someone compare divine comedy with some1 who covers other people's songs? surely not... no no no no... surely not....

  • From the corner of my eye....

    Fantastic song, great tune!!

  • the lyrics are beautiful ^^

he is the greatest. in league with matthew bellamy :D

  • it's not his lyric

    come on!!

  • Jesus H. Corbett!!! Neil hannon... he is a genius, would love to have a pint with him.

  • I'm having that Jesus H.Corbett thing! Better than the Jesus H. Christ one I've been using!!

  • Pure goosebumps material. Does it to me everytime and im not even from the north.

  • OMG, Neil Hannon 15 years ago ... at least 15

  • think it was 12 actually, just to be pedantic :P

  • Er...wasn't it 10?

  • well the copy of the vid I have says it was '96 .. but I know the album didn't come out until 1998/99 so I could well be wrong. wasn't 15 though.

  • The song is called Sunrise and it is in a compilation.

    Fantastic song.

  • Its the last song on Fin De Siecle from 1999.

  • should be the national anthem of northern ireland

  • Stunning, as he usually is - goosebump material.

  • Supersweeet.

  • In a perfect world Neil would be 100X bigger than shallow pretenders such as U2 and Springsteen. He speaks to the heart and soul on the deepest level.

  • Oh god yes. Never a truer word was spoken. Neil and Bono cannot even be compared

  • I agree with Dipthefal- it does embody a lot. Its the right message... who cares? Its all so silly, and this song typifies it brilliantly

  • never heard this before. it's great thanx

  • :'-(

  • Thanks, Glamarama!

  • Sunrise is one of my most favorite TDC songs... it has never failed me to feel goosebumps whenever i listen to it, and more so watch this rare video... thanks! =)

  • Speaking as someone from Northern Ireland, this song embodies alot, and I think it's absolutely wonderful...

  • how did you find this?!? this is perfect--i'm in love with song. and in love with neil when he does those high notes *swoons*
