Just real quality in my opinion. Had this album when I lived in Exeter in the late 70's early 80's and thought it brilliant work. Sound so culled, lyrics so passionately harsh and that razor blade guitar, a real work of genius for me.
@roddy76to86 I have spent the night looking at what I consider key moments of music in my own life. The question it left me with is why is there such a dearth in popular "culture" (using word advisedly) today? Consumerism seems like a virus that has eroded values. When customers pepper spray each other and fight for a RETRO repro of trainers then the world has gone insane.
What teen girl or boy with a guitar who loved the au pairs didnt learn that riff??? Ahhh, I loved this time period and this music. I saw them at the Pep in NYC. They went on so damn late and I remember waiting and being so dead (and drunk from grapefruit and vodka, strange how I remember that). Ahh, youth.
dead right a class tune no such thing as a classless society never will be because the working class cant cope with that because were "stupid and dyed in the wool reactionary morons" so we ll always be led by middle /upper class "cunts" once we have our jobs in B&Q thats all that matters and thats where "we" belong isnt it im ashamed of my fucking "class" start fighting back you spineless cunts
@dermot51 There is, was, and always will be "classes" as a means of segregating the haves from the have nots. The lucky few can't be bothered with the great unwashed masses, eh now? A few altruistic table scraps thrown to the curs now and then, but this great experiment of social living will never be equitable, as long as there remain those few with the "i've got mine" mindset. It's a bummer, but what can we do. Pull down the building and the people remain.
