Not bad apparently theres this green belt who trains in palmerston who does awesome katas forgot his name though you could probably learn some things off him?
@here4musik Hmmm there's not many adult students in Palmy from my understanding, let me know if you remember his name and Ill gladly train with him...
Yea but the stances on the return (after the first 6 stances) cant really make up for what you did first (being the first 6 stances)... kindda hope this makes sense... its dependent on the pattern... like Taykiyoko Kata's are easier to finish in the spot that you started on because the stances are the same along with the pattern... i do hope this makes sense and thanks for the comment! :) OSU!
It depends aye like Ive seen people in Seido grade to black in 3 years! I think Kyokushinkai will grade you to black in 3 or more years but that's dependent on how hard and well you train. I know a few people in TKD that got their black in one year! lol
your moves are strong but not accurate. your sunshin isn't there at all....sunshin is great state where yu can defense your critical parts..
many who do kata forget or think kata just for show or maybe for train our bodies. the purpose of kata is to hide techniques that forbidden to use in modern century ..
I understand what you are saying however, the technique of a stance, strike, block and etc is dependant on a persons understanding of the techniques and ones body type. Example will be my sanshin, I cant hold a strong sanshin without going wide and leaving myself open thou I cant have a strong sanshin if I was to perform the stance to your meaning and this is all because of my body type, my legs wont allow me to have the best of both worlds.

I see, interesting, I have a friend he is in Shoto Kai and I think has also some influences from Kyokushin. I respect all styles actually, then from personal perspective you can like more one or another. The nice to train in Japan is all things around the Dojo and the Karate it self. The discipline, the respect, the kindness, I certainly learned so much only because of that. As you have a deep acceptance to...
... It's not easy, also you are practicing another style so katas and techniques are performed different. I just wanted to give you my humble experience from Japan.
Keep training and nice to meet you.
Please, also you are very welcome to give me feedback and positive criteria from my videos.
.. I would love to train in Japan! Our styles are not too different as Seido Juku came from Kyokushin thou Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura does not talk about it much...
Again thank you for your kind words and your wonderful advise, i look forward to talking to you some more
With all respect I would like to do some positive criteria. I am just now in Japan due to Kyokushin training, I also had the chance to do Shinto Ryu. Well, my first mistake was to be to tense. They told me to not forget the kime, the power and to strenght our body but with relax in the body. When I see your katas and mostly when you rectract your arms your shoulder goes up. Try to avoid that and be relaxed on the body joints but still using power. It's not easy, also you are...
Thank you for your advise.. i will be trying your advise out tonight during class... will have to figure out how to stay relax while keeping the body strong..

Do not forgett Kyokushin comes from other Karate styles and many katas are not unique Kyokushin, some modifications has been done to be unique kyokushin.

The second kata is gekisai dai and I think the speed of the video is little faster then normal.
Also , what other martial art did you practiced ? I can see some influences , maybe shotokan ?
