To add to this glitch.

Once you are able to walk (not swim) in this room, take out your gun. With your gun still out jump over the control panel and you should fall down to the ground. With your gun still out keep walking out towards the water until you start swimming again. You will now be swimming with your gun out (you can't fire unfortunately).

@BlackCactusFilms You can't get DK64 for any console anymore, it's pretty much a dead game. The only way to get it is for an emulator for the PC or the N64 version. No one owns it because Rareware made it, but Nintendo doesn't own Rareware, it belongs to Microsoft now, so it should be on the xbox 360, but since Nintendo owns DK64, both companies own half the game so no one has it. :(

I still have BK&Tooie, DK64, the james bond game, Mario64, and every other amazing rareware game except conker's bad fur day. I'm sad I never played it as a child, it seemed like a sweet game, and I want it for N64 some day.

I tried playing the rom on the computer and it's pretty fun, but it's never as fun as on the actual console.

@kaelonisthe Yeah, I know what you mean. I got project64 one time, and I was sooo happy because it had Mario Party 1 and Dk64. But it was harder to play with the arrows than the joy stick. So I bought mario party for the 64 anyways. haha. And then dk64 didn't even work very well. And, I never knew Mario64 was a rareware game. :P

Even though this video is nearly 3 years old, and has probably been mentioned, my guess is that they obviously had to have that part in the game, for the cutscene, and that they decided to just put it under DK Isle. THere's probably more areas only seen in cutscenes that are either situated right under the island, or under somewhere, or even 500 miles above the area, or wherever.

um I've been to that room, but I got in another way. You can use Chunky, make him big, jump on a certain step while pushing forward, and he will just fall under the island, and then you can get to that room.

Lots of games do this sort of thing. Some areas are used in cutscenes only, but the models are sometimes "hidden" in areas that are meant to be "unreachable." Sometimes hacking is needed in order to find certain "hidden" items like beta material that stayed in the game's code but was locked away (which can include things like sound clips as well, like the "Fungus Forest" music hidden away within Banjo-Kazooie's code that was later discovered through ROM hacking).

Still a nice find, though.

you can actually get out of the hideout, u see the monitor that shows the island? jump on the controls, then jump over the monitor, you should slide under it, then ur game will fuck up for a few seconds, then you'll be back in the water.

there is another way of entering this secret room, i accidently found that out. fly with diddy to the top-backside of the island, where you can get a golden banana by shooting a peanut switch. enter that cave and run to the back wall of it. i fell right through the ground somewhere there and landed in k rools cockpit, goin all "WTF"

i think its weird how they can just put sequences in places the game itself cant travel unless you try to find it. it makes you wonder if theres anything else your missing out on, huh? while i was trying to find the secret room...i actually found myself (as lanky) walking along the bottom of the ocean. and the water had disappeared...and right above me was a floating donkey kong island. it was pretty twilight zone..but i dont know how i got there. :p
