  • Having an auto tranny is an advantage?? I think it isn´t...

  • @E34Benzin

I have one of these myself. # 356. Also had several other E39s, but the big difference is in the Alpinas lock-up converter. Belive me, it's almost as a manual tranny... Nice....

  • @V8Alpina

I know those gearboxes are fine. =) I have a Stetronic and I like it, but in a sports car there´s nothing like a manual!!!

  • @E34Benzin

The difference between Steptronic and Switchtronic (one of) is the Lock-up clutch (just like in old american cars)

  • @V8Alpina Lock-up clutch?? What´s the function of that feature? How does it work? =)

  • @E34Benzin

hello mate i hav e switch tronic in my e34 bmw i have only had the car about 5 week but i cant seem to work it :/ so how doe it world lol ?

  • @bimmerboy8 Hi mate, I think there was no Switch tronic in the E34. Switch-tronic works like the Steptronic autobox with secuencial mode, but as far as I know it started with the E39 and E38.

In the E34, the auto boxes are the old ones with Sports mode, manual mode(you can lock some gears, for example: in 2 only 1st and 2nd are selected and in 3 only up to 3rd) and Winter mode. =)

    Hope it helps. =)

  • @E34Benzin too true, mate. you sir, are a Sir!
