Alien Force was just a flop of retcon and poor changes, and Ultimate Alien is passable, but still suffers from many of the issues that plagued the former. Yea, it's got a something of an underlying plot now, but it's hard to see it as the same show now. But as I see it, those of us who don't like the sequels can be content with the "finale" the first series had, and simply look at the other two series as "What would happen"

My little cousin who was about 4 when Ben ten alien force was out and he used to cry so much because he wasent aloud to watch it, so he recorded all the old episodes of Ben ten and makes us watch it whenever we go there!
I didn't really like the Ben 10 franchise at all. It ended both the Ed, Edd n Eddy franchise and the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends franchise. That's the only reason why i hate this show. But the theme song is still good.

This was always the best one. Alien Force sucked out all the personality out of the characters, gave Ben a really stupid selection of aliens with a few notable selections and, unless I'm mistaken, Kevin was brought back as an ally (Strike one) with little to no reason to assist Ben now (Strike two) and no explanation of how he rid himself of the Omnitrix mutation (Strike three!).
I didn't even bother with Ultimate Alien. There's now way it could be better than the original series.
@imaloony8 Before you go mouthing off you should know, Kevin came back and helped them because his mom used to tell him stories about his Dad, Devin, who was a Plumber. Soo.. Kevin helped to make his father proud. And it was explained how he deactivated the Omnitrix and took it off to live a normal life.

The series made no sense. It was lame, had mostly stupid aliens in comparison, and every OUNCE of personality was sucked dry from every character. They're all just so... bland.

Also, speaking of characters being aliens, Gwen not having magic powers and actually being an alien was possibly the stupidest plot twist I've seen in history. It instantly made her about a hundred times more lame of a character.
@imaloony8 Yah but they do explain it eventually in an episode in a flashback which shows kevin being taught how to control his powers by a prison-mate. And Gwen can still do spells she just doesn't do them all the time anymore.

And yet it takes like a series and a half to explain? More importantly, according to the original series, Kevin didn't have the power to absorb material, he worked with electricity. Where'd this other BS come from?
And again, Gwen was so much cooler when the explaination for her powers was just "It's magic, GTFO" Now she's an alien and sucks

And I don't know if you saw the episode of Alien Force where they make a joke about the second sumo slammers show ruining the show, but that the newer one will be better (alluding to the ben 10 to alien force transition and then the AF to UA transition)

@donho79 The problem with that is that Ultimate Alien sucks. And the fact that they had him farting around for a full series and then some with this huge hanging plot point before finally adressing it is pretty insulting. It should have been like the second thing brought up when he first appeared.
@DoctorWhoCenter2010 In the original series, she was totally bitchy, I have no idea what character you were looking at. But she was bitchy in a good way, sort of the voice of reason in the group.
In the new series' she's just fucking annoying. Mainly because she, like every other character, no longer has a personality. Maybe that's a side effect to being so close to the Omnitrix for so long. Side effects may include loss of character, lame plot twists, and lack of decent voice actors.

@imaloony8 Kevin helped because after finding out his father was a plumber he wanted to redeem himself, he's helping Ben because he figured it would be a good place to start, and in a later episode it did explain how he rid himself of the mutation. He was taught how to control it by another prisoner in the null void.
@rrtt1 "How did you get rid of that mutation" should have been question number 2 on Ben's list right after "What the fuck?" how they managed to skim over such a major detail for more than two minutes is beyond me.
Also, last I checked, Kevin's power was to absorb and control electricity and electronic devices. Where did this "Absorb any material" crap come from? Because that should have been question number 3.
@imaloony8 His dad's species can do that, I'm guessing electricity was easier to manipulate but you do make some valid points. But everyone knows that in most long running series a bunch of stuff gets retconned mainly Kevin in Ben Ten. But yeah the any material stuff is kind of crap, would have been cool if he could still use electricity in the new series.

The original Ben 10 was so awesome, this theme song is one of the best for a Cartoon Network show. The new versions are unbearable and I cannot bring myself to watch. This video brings back such awesome memories.

@SuperFastTortoise its not fair to compare this to an anime that came out back then. look at it to the point of view of a 7 year old watching this, they followed this series for years, then as they grew into their teens, they followed ben10 alien force and ben10 ultimate alien. saying that this show was not good compared to what YOU grew up with is just not fair. i grew up with macross which came before dbz. you only think dbz is better because you grew up to it. good = subjective

@SuperFastTortoise i'm not saying anything about macross being better than anything. have you even watched this show? you cant judge something you have no knowledge about just because you have a huge bias about another show. ben 10 is one of the longest running show in cartoon network, and is still running. the writing is good and has been getting better. I'm not saying your opinion is wrong, i am just saying that its not a fair one.

This song reminds me of the old days! I used to love this show! Ben ten alien force was so anoying! My little cousin who was about 4 when Ben ten alien force was out and he used to cry so much because he wasent aloud to watch it, so he recorded all the old episodes of Ben ten and makes us watch it whenever we go there!

I didn't really like the Ben 10 franchise at all. It ended both the Ed, Edd n Eddy franchise and the Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends franchise. That's the only reason why i hate this show. But the theme song is still good.

Dang, I remember waking up on Saturday and running into the living room the MOMENT the show came on. It was my favorite for a LOOONG time, and still the best cartoon network show existing. All cartoonnetwork shwos now is crap. :/ Eh, at least they still have the show on Boomerang occasionally. *watched it not ten minutes before this video*

I LITERALLY almost started crying hearing this song again. I used to LOVE WATCHING THIS SHOW along with Camp Lazlo, My Gym Partners A Monkey(haters gonna hate) and all those other awesome shows that were on around the same time! ( I still do!) This was always the best one. Alien Force sucked out all the personality out of the characters, gave Ben a really stupid selection of aliens with a few notable selections and, unless I'm mistaken, Kevin was brought back as an ally (Strike one) with little to no reason to assist Ben now (Strike two) and no explanation of how he rid himself of the Omnitrix mutation (Strike three!).
I didn't even bother with Ultimate Alien. There's now way it could be better than the original series.

Kevin helped to make his father proud. And it was explained how he deactivated the Omnitrix and took it off to live a normal life.

Also, if Kevin's mom used to tell him stories about his dad the plumber, why did he fight ben in the first place? Because he's a douchebag?
The series made no sense. It was lame, had mostly stupid aliens in comparison, and every OUNCE of personality was sucked dry from every character. They're all just so... bland.

Also, speaking of characters being aliens, Gwen not having magic powers and actually being an alien was possibly the stupidest plot twist I've seen in history. It instantly made her about a hundred times more lame of a character.

And yet it takes like a series and a half to explain? More importantly, according to the original series, Kevin didn't have the power to absorb material, he worked with electricity. Where'd this other BS come from?
And again, Gwen was so much cooler when the explaination for her powers was just "It's magic, GTFO" Now she's an alien and sucks

And I don't know if you saw the episode of Alien Force where they make a joke about the second sumo slammers show ruining the show, but that the newer one will be better (alluding to the ben 10 to alien force transition and then the AF to UA transition)

@DoctorWhoCenter2010 In the original series, she was totally bitchy, I have no idea what character you were looking at. But she was bitchy in a good way, sort of the voice of reason in the group.
In the new series' she's just fucking annoying. Mainly because she, like every other character, no longer has a personality. Maybe that's a side effect to being so close to the Omnitrix for so long. Side effects may include loss of character, lame plot twists, and lack of decent voice actors.

@imaloony8 Kevin helped because after finding out his father was a plumber he wanted to redeem himself, he's helping Ben because he figured it would be a good place to start, and in a later episode it did explain how he rid himself of the mutation. He was taught how to control it by another prisoner in the null void.

@rrtt1 "How did you get rid of that mutation" should have been question number 2 on Ben's list right after "What the fuck?" how they managed to skim over such a major detail for more than two minutes is beyond me.
Also, last I checked, Kevin's power was to absorb and control electricity and electronic devices. Where did this "Absorb any material" crap come from? Because that should have been question number 3.

But everyone knows that in most long running series a bunch of stuff gets retconned mainly Kevin in Ben Ten. The original Ben 10 was so awesome, this theme song is one of the best for a Cartoon Network show. The new versions are unbearable and I cannot bring myself to watch. This video brings back such awesome memories.
