wow No 1 said the same shit so no 1 knows lol I would take it to a mechanic that knows hondas and ask him but it does sound like the steering pump. good luck
Mine was in a flood and kinda made the same noise.. i changed the oil a bunch of times and dried everything out but it spun a rod a few nites ago.. lets hope yours isnt the same story
sounds like a bad power steering pump and ur timing tensioner hondas get noisey when u dont take care of them that and the water pump gets noisy too add fluid to the power steering resevor and start it up and turn the wheel and check fluid to see if u need to add any more till that noise gets quite process of elimination you cant just throw parts at a car thats a bad thing to do ive got a bult b16 with a gt35r that runs tens have fun... :)
hey try this take out the alternator belt then turn it on, if the noise dissapear it can be the alternator or the pulley that goes down across d alternator .dont leave it on no more than 5 minutes
dude hydrolocked means that u got water in ur engine and when the piston comes up on its compression stroke(both valves are closed) and the water doesnt compress(liquid doesnt compress) and it bends the fuck out of ur valves. u may have had some water in the intake or something, but 90% of the time when u get water in ur motor it will get hyrdro locked with means new valves at the least.
Im sure it would bend the valves too, but really it bends the connecting rods or sometimes twists the crankshaft; then the engine wont turn at all; hence hydroLOCK. His engine wouldn't be running now if it did hydrolock, he was probably smart and pulled the plugs and such first before trying to start it. I agree with buggie, all I hear is you're low on powersteering fluid.
alright a few guys have this right, i fix fucking handas all day and day. timing belt dum dum u put it on backwards. before you take this shit apart you must mark witch way it spun dork........
I have that same noise on my car too. I just bought my car and noticed in the receipts i have for repair that the t-belt had just been changed, On my other car, "I" did my t-belt and had it to tight and it made that noise, i loosened it up and the noise went away. Has your t-belt be replaced lately?
ahhahahah this guy bought the $100 oil cap before the spark plug wires LOL.
CHECK ALL UR FLUIDS!! probably no oil in the sucker either u ricer. Defently either the alternator or p/s fuild low, but the car sounds like it might need some OIL too.... stop down shifting high rpms it makes ur rice burner burn OIL big time!!!
it sounds like ur wearing sumthing in your motor or it coud be the power stering and check the alnator or ur ac compresserikd sory if that dident help
sounds like you should check the sensors on your intake. try changing them. thats an idea. holla back let me know what the prob was. i have got a d16z6 and is curious what the prob might be just incase it happens to me.
Ive never heard that from a honda ive had all street racers that have taken abuse 91 93 and now same as yours ek model but soch vtec and never heard that id say RUN IT OUT ITS A HONDA IT WILL LIVE LONGER THEN YOU
mine does the EXACT same thing dude mines the alt...yep sounds just like a supercharger pretty much. good luck with ur car man good to know im not the only one with that problemo
look for the guy who posted this video i no wat it is is right wat sum people said its sumthing with a wheel check ur a.c. compressor because i had my 00 civic ex d16y8 motor do that check the a.c. compressor the wheel and the barings in the wheel and change the belt while u at it trust me
There's nothing wrong with the car. I gotta agree with HONDAZCBEATER there, it's the pump to ur PS. Its normal for it to sound like that on a cold startup.
If your power steering is still functional, there's nothing to worry about.
I have narrowed the sound to the AC belt tensioner as nightequalizer suggested. I carefully sprayed with some WD and the noise went away for a few days, but now is back.
its your AC belt tentioner, try taking off your AC belt if the sounds goes away the Tentioner bearing is worn try.. It the same noise my civic had : )

I think it's "shpaner" (i cant say on English). It is the wheel on a belt. or maybe alternator (charger for Battery).
Post comment when you fix it.
