in events like this there is usually more than one cameraman - that's how you can have instantaneous transitions between different musicians like at 1:09 for example

the cameraman filming the bassist was probably simply assigned to do so for the whole song. it's the man at the desk who decides which video feed gets routed to the main output, so if there's anyone to blame it's the guy at the desk not the cameraman
