Sorry to hear, I guessed that might have been the case given the diagnosis you and the Keykeeper gave it. Are you guys able to do a swap yourselves or will you have to get someone else?
I can give you right now $ 2000 dollars for your K wagon or we can trade my 00 Durango 5.9 with 106k,miles let me know I love the K wagon they are classic!
i dnt jave a k wagon, i just said i had the same radio in my 94 jeep, and those durangos are great my mom has an 92 with the 4.7, we wouldve goten the 5.9 if we got to the dealership in time, the person was driving it off the lot as soon as we got there
I must have missed that one. I've watched a lot but not all of his videos.
It's not hard to drop the tank the "normal" way. Two fasteners, two straps, fuel filler tube, couple of rubber hoses and we were done. It's the easiest one I've ever pulled.
The wiring harness (it has two parts) is said to be the same for all Chrysler cars from the late 70s to sometime in the 2000s. That is really quite impressive, especially given the improvements in the technology from then to now.
That "nasty rubber plug" is a special drain that allows you to drain the gas tank before removing it. take a look in a service manual to see what i am talking about.
The gas tank on your Reliant is the same one i have on my 1990 Chrysler Lebaron, and in the service manual, it says that the second nipple that was capped is used to connect some device to drain the tank (There's a piece of tubing connected to the other end of that capped metal tube that extends into the lowest point in the gas tank). I have the same thing on my Chrysler.
I should probably get a new cap for it, because I don't want fuel to come out while going down the road.
The check engine light has stayed off except for when it was running with the messed up battery (the ECM does have codes for high and low voltage levels, interestingly enough) so I'm not sure if the fuel system gets any vacuum applied to it like some modern FI cars do for the "loose gas cap" check.

What ever happened to the Chrysler Voyager? Did your mom decide to unload it?
andrewps84 9 months ago
@andrewps84 It's still here, and still waiting for an engine replacement. The one that's in it is pretty much cooked.

The dash speakers probobly got baked in the sunlight.
Some times with the plastic cone ones the cones shrivel up and break from the surrounds and spiders, not to mention the voice coils fall apart.
But I hope that ride turns out the way you want it! It's a classic!!

Not at present. It's got problems in the lower end of the engine.

I see, as in a spun bearing or connecting rod issues

Sweet! Stereo looks and sounds nice.

That looks just like the radio in my '99 Cherokee.

Probably a very close relation--this one is from a 2000 Chrysler Grand Voyager van.
I've seen a version of this radio that has a yellow display. I think it was in a Chrysler Cirrus, but I don't remember for sure.

You know dave showed how to get the fuel pump out of his aries without dropping the tank but whatever works

Wow, GM radios went through (at least) 3 generations between 88-2000. If I would've had a Chrysler it would've made my job easier!

aren't all GM stereos equipped with XM satellite radio?
MasterSnowstorm 2 years ago
No. I's only been an option in the past few years.
firehawk400 2 years ago
No. It's optional, but a lot of them sold today include the needed receiving hardware.
uxwbill 2 years ago
by the way, what do you think about my video response?
MasterSnowstorm 2 years ago
Those Chrysler radios don't change very much, do they?

It sure seems like they don't.

I want to get a factory service manual for this car. I have one for the '84. It's a great resource.

I find that little piece of capped tube a very big help when i had to replace my fuel pump. It's very convient.
