  • We take massive enclosed open spaces for granted today, but a century ago, they were the engineering marvels of their time! Thanks for a beautiful video AND for identifying Adrian Rollini's part in the music. He was an extremely gifted musician. Check out his video playing Limehouse Blues on CHIMES !!! chuck

  • THANK YOU for uploading this, I really wanted to hear the originaly Rodgers and Hart version =)

  • @gigicd86

    you're welcome

    come back anytime

  • Odd to hear this recording of what must have been the way it was played originally, not as we are used to with the smooth sound. nice recording.

  • This is stunning! You have to love NY to have put together this piece of art. I am beholden.

    With appreciation,

    Shirley C.

  • Forget about what I wrote about this a year ago! This has become one of my favorite videos on youtube. I watched it at least 50x!!! Are there any good CDs with those California Ramblers Edisons. I have the Edison Laterals CD but couldn't find anything else...

  • My favorite city, now and always.

  • Congratulaciones... excelentes fotografías de la época...

  • There is only one Manhattan on the earth that is celebrated in song, movies, architecture and all else that signifies its greatness. There will never be another like it.

  • I Lovvvve this so much!!!!!!! 5 stars, favorite and THANKYOU!

  • The pictures and the song are perfectly integrated making for a great upload.

    Thanks so much!

  • thank you for your nice words!

  • I agree with the choice of Lee Wiley. Problem is it is impossible for me to find anything she did live? She was a wonderful singer.

Thanks for the posting by the Ramblers.

I note that your identification seal is Paul Whiteman. My Uncle played with the Whiteman Band while he was a student at Cornell university in the late 20's.

    Thanks again.

  • well, I can't judge tastes... this is a version representative of the Roaring 20's, Wiley's is a late 30's style in a slower tempo, I like both!

Looking for live recordings of Lee Wiley? I had a couple of LP's of her with airchecks.

What's your uncle's name? I may know him...

    Cheers,

    Enrico

  • Thanks Ernie. Wonderful! The phtos are greata. wish has seen GCS witht the light pouring in before the Biltmote blocked it.

  • Good Old New York...great video - thanks for posting!

  • This is fabulous - I love it! So many great photos to go with the wonderful music!

  • One of my favorite songs played by a fantastic lineup!

My favorite version is however not that hot... It's by Lee Wiley acc. by Bobby Hackett...
