I was curious about saddleseat, I do huntseat and you put ur heals hips and shoulders in a line, but i noticed you all have a 'chair'seat, and we wrap our legs aroud our horses and u all dont, how do you send leg aids and signlas to your horses if your legs arent on them??

um u just kinda use ur thighs lol :)

we use different saddles called cutbacks. they dont have knee rolls and that helps contact. and when we need to do leg aids we just do. to canter we need to tip their nose to the outside and do inside leg pressure and they just start cantering. and if u have a really well trained horse, to get them to trot all u have to do is cluck. :D

SO you really dont use many aids, just voice commands and pressure?? I remember when I rode saddle seat that u turned the nose to the wall, but we still kept our legs on... I get it, its just different than hunt seat which is what i do...

yah, if we hold too much pressure with the legs, they'll get confused and start an extended trot or someting..lol but yah, i did jumping, then hunt pleasure, then saddleseat :O i know what they d o in huntseat

@crazyponies1294 No, Of course we use aids, or else we really woulden't be riders. To get them to canter we turn their head to the wall, cluck and add leg pressuer, somtimes a kick or use a tap with the whip. but some people do it differently

they should call it four gaited because rack and slow gait are the same thing
