In conquest, you have destroyed every other civ, and you are the only civ left.

One thing I don't understand--how is conquest victory possible if domination victory exists? If taking over MOST of the map wins the game, then doesn't that render total conquest unnecessary?

@rocketman544 Not really. It's possible to rush your opponents in the early stages of the game, destroying all of them before anyone gets anywhere near the domination requirements. That would be a conquest victory, and not a domination victory.

Hmmm. I remember playing against my brother and sum computers on LAN. That would soon show to be the strangest game/match I've played on Civilizations 4. I got completly obliterated by BARBARIANS! And not only that. The computers and my brother didn't get bothered with them at all! The barbarians kept coming with archers and axemen and they destroyed my cities. I tried to get away and start over somewhere else on the map. But they had me surronded in a nice circle of axes.
