I know that the quotes are obviously from Lincoln but are the quotes that you've used in the Lincoln memorial? Or are they from a speech?

@89littlelu Some are from the Gettysburg Address and the second inaugural speech. Both are in the Memorial.

Lincoln never belonged to any established church (perhaps his only admirable attribute), and quoted biblical scripture when it served his purpose. All men are created equal? Not according to this quote, spoken by ol' Abe, during the Lincoln-Douglas Debates of 1858: "...there is a physical difference between the white and black races...there must be the position of superior and inferior, and I, as much as any other man, am in favor of having the superior position assigned to the white race."

@pauliborracho People can change. That's what helps progress. I think he might have conformed with the prevailing opinions with the hope of getting elected. I believe he truly learned.
