I laughed when you said that they might be afraid to be gay. I'm really thinking about being a guy (I'm currently a tomboy), I'm not really comfortable about my body more and more often.
I think that it's redicolus that people think women are the weaker sex. I think it's unfair that if men wear female clothes or act like female then they are odd.
I have to agree. That is sooo dang true though. What she said about pictures etc, is because you never know who you are looking at now days in the media or else where.
What people don't know they usually fear and what they fear they usually hate. The voice is the most important thing to transition I think. People search transsexuals out to harass them on here because people that are hateful have to have a place to vent their hate. I think your opinions on men / not confident in their sexuality / and their attraction to femme is right. What they don't understand is that a woman that is transsexual is just that >> a Woman, period.
You are right. I live in the Bible Belt--or is it Noose. All the gays and lesbians I see are undercover. These "good" Christians are usually nice, to your face. I have none of your issues, yet I face discrimination since I don't go to their mind numbing churches (and I do have a web presence that shocks them). Small minded people suck.
I'm a transguy and I come from a rural town in a conservative area. Luckily I have my family and friends who do not care if I am FtM. Living in a rural area is really tough though
Actually, there are alot of transitioning transsexuals in Southern American states, but the communities are usually more traditionally oriented and stealth. There is a traditional place for "eccentrics" in the South, provided one fits into the role in an "acceptable" way. Frankly, there is as much transphobic bigotry in more liberal cultures. Think of all the transphobic lesbians... Choose your poison, I guess.
I've been watching your videos and have a lot of respect and admiration for you and what you're doing. The best thing is how thoroughly logical and virtually flawless your arguments are. Only one thing, you seem to only be addressing male-female-TS, when using the term "transexuals". ..
I address things from my own perspective, but I do my best to make the videos helpful to both. It's just that it might be a little cumbersome if every time I have to specify when I'm talking about MTFs or FTMS or both...
HI,I think that your right,im a trans and I think that society has a realy strange way of seing things,I have always wondered why tomboys are excepted as a girl who acts like a boy but boys who act like girls are insulted and and avoided.I think its great that most girls are accepted but why cant boys be aswell.whatever the case I think your totally right. Please keep up the great work. BYE^.^
hi. ive been watching ur blogs and it is good to hear how u progressing and ur views. i, myslef have just come out/. comig out as ts after (cough) yrs. im 35 and i find it helpful listenig to people liek yourself. thanx
I love your blogs, but have a slightly different take on the biological mistake angle. I too consider myself TS but my position is, I am not an accident of birth but actually; I am who the Creator planned for me to be. I constantly pray that I do with this gift what my Creator planned for me to do with these rather unique circumstances. By using the word unique, I am not saying I am the only one out here, as I believed in my youth, but rather we all have a unique path.
You are a good ambassador for transsexuals. You are eloquent and beautiful. Being open with people about who you are is the best option generally I think. Good luck.
I really enjoyed the video. Alot of the arguements are good, however ever I would have said somethings in another way perhaps. I guess that people are just ..close minded and not always understanding of things they are unexperienced with.
I wanted to say that I like all your videos alot, and that I fully understand the points your trying make. I am transgenered myself actually.
I hope you continue making these great videos. :-)
17:52 - nice kitty ;) Got a name? Interesting ideas on wester society unable to accept "inbetween" when it comes to sexuality but easter cultures can. Check somne Jacques Derrida and his discussions on Indeterminacy for more on western cultures inability to think outside of polar opposites. Not a deconstruction fan for it's lack of action, but could further your thinking.
Wow, such wisdom from one so young. All yu say is tru. Being passable is the point and is important. That includes hehavior and voice as well. I've always passed and began transition at 25. You're on the right track.
It was, as usual, an interesting (though, longish) post. Maybe the reaction to transsexuals and intersexed could be thought of as something close to what has been the lot of feral children (abandoned or mistreated children who were either not raised at all, or raised in the wild): because it forces people to reflect on the nature of human identity, it also brings up the uncomfortable question of their own personal identity;
well i just stumbled on you blog...wasn't searching for transexuals hehe.. I think people are just afraid of what is unknown to them. I really wish people would be a bit more empathetic towards others. Why don't appreciate the courage you have in facing the challanges you are facing. None of them have ever faced such a challange.
Hello again! Your argumentations are consistent as usual, i really love to watch your philosophies on youtube. By the way, I would strongly recommend not to criticise society when you're talking to a therapist. Because therapists always represent the view of society in a certain way and are payed to protect society from "misfits". It's their job to classify ts (and other "misbehaviour" and "misthoughts") as a mental illness
excellent video hunny!

Your comments on men's attraction to the "image" or "persona" of a woman rather than a woman per se is very profound.

i have seen most of your videos, and i really think that your bravery is very special.
you are a role model.
those haters are just ignorant. they're scared of something they don't understand, and hate is the easiest way out.
i support you, all the way!

"We" is the biggest enemy of "I." You are entitled to personal life and happiness as much as anyone else. I am glad to see you being you.

I guess it's easier for most people to accept unchallenged essentialism (and in this regard, you can rarely have too low expectations).
The quote "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is generally though to have originated from Nietzsche.
Bloody limit
