SA Rugby = bunch of cheats. Play fair and don't gouge people's eyes out and don't wear arm bands saying justice when the right punishments was given you stupid faggots! You know burger should've got a red card, if I ever see that ref he is for a beating
@Josh7711Dub To clarify and because there were updates in the squad because of injury. There are some on my list that were not announced. Mine was the official roster up to date going into the first tour game.
Boys...you could have had us if you played to your strengths, technically the Lions were better than our Boks, I cant believe you thought you were coming here to beat or even match our physicality...that's where you came un done!! DONT EVER THINK YOU CAN COME TO SA and BULLY US AROUND, its simply not gonna happen, look forward to seeing you next time, hopefully with a better game plan...GOD SAVE UR DREAM
lljhennel don't forget that they lost to Leicester, France, the Saracens, and the only undefeated major International Tier 1 side Ireland. The Boks are only the IRB team of the year because the decision was made before their deplorable Autumn Tour.
And keep in mind the simple fact that he didn't. That's Rugby, sometimes you get the bounces and other times you don't. Just like I could say, Ireland would have beaten Australia if Ronan O'Gara hadn't thrown a poor pass in the first few minutes. But he did, so they drew.
ceflora we lost because we tried out a team that was totally unexperienced. So what your saying is that Leicester would be able to win The Lions, NZ, Aus, etc?
The point is that regardless of who was tried out, the team's record is far from undefeated. You can rationalize about who was played all day long, but a loss is a loss. Ireland went on tour to play the USA and Canada with teams similar to those that the Boks trotted out against Leicester and the Saracens. Ultimately the tour was 1-4. Those 4 loses reflect upon the team as a whole. Could a full strength boks team be #1 again, maybe, but the team is their record, not simply the players.
Glenmead you jealous reject, South Africa not only won the lions tour, Tri nations, world cup but every majour trophy available to them, thats why thy were names IRBs team of the year, go hide in a corner and sulk you jealous idiot.
I can't believe they weren't going to start murray, so they play him in some dirty tracker game and he gets injured, vickery was never that good, whereas murray is hte best tighthead in the world at the minutel.
The Boks had not played together since November last year going into the Lions Series, plus they lacked match fitness as their season was over. They were only fit by the time Trinations came round. The Boks deserved the wins as in the se3cond test the Lions conceded 3 trys while only scoring one. That shows bok class!
youre a disgrace, not one of those players in the Lions would say that , it is the British & Irish Lions, the head coach is Scottish for christ sake! we don"t need you supporting the Lions, its 4 countries coming together as brothers! dickhead. the best player in 2nd test was Simon Shaw what part of Ireland or Wales is he from! jog on...
how can i be bitter, considering England"s world cup record, they"ve been in last 2 Finals (3 in total) how many have Ireland,Wales, Scotland been in, oh yeah none! I support all the players, i love the Lions. Don"t forget the test they won Simon Shaw was man of the match. You sound bitter not me boyo!
i am irish, and proud to be so, but i have to say after watching 3rd test mr shaw you rock!!!!!! how can u not get full place in england squad. they bhoys showed the boks how to play the game in last test, and the boks didnt like it
erm dude... lions played the best team they could for the final test... the boks played a minogue team... coz the series had already been on. done and dusted
Both teams didn't have their full sides. The Boks didn't by any means put less emphasis on the last test, they also fielded their best team possible with injury and suspension. The whole series was even. The Lions even ended up leading in points, although the boks took the series. 2-1 in games isn't a fair reflection, but someone has to win. Boks v Lions, it was an even match. I'm a bit dissapointed though about some of the Bok's lack of composure. Some dirty playing.
ok, i put my hands up to that, it was a mickey mouse game as far as the mix of things went. but you got to agree some of the tactics used by the boks were intended to intimidate the lions players. skulke berger was a player i liked till i saw what he did. i've played the game for36 yrs now and that was one of the most blatantly underhand old school tricks i've seen
Byrne,Bowe,O'Driscoll,Roberts,Monye/Fitzgerald,Jones/O'Gara(could go either way),Phillips,Heaslip,Williams,Croft/Wallace,O'Connell,Wyn Jones,Vickery,Mears,Jenkins. (15-1)
Yeah Jones and O'Gara could go either way. And I think Monye has a chance too. I think Wallace's experience should get him the spot but you never know, the coaches are looking for the "in form". But I think Wyn Jones would be better as an impact sub. Front row sounds good to me too. Vickery and Jenkins for sure.
Ah now...Byrne is a class above Kearney-Kearney has stopped attacking, all he does is hoist a huge Garryowen into the air~Byrne is a much better attacker, his 2 tries on tour are a testament to that
Kearney is returning to his old attacking form. I agree that Byrne is an amazing player, but Kearney's ability under the high ball is a huge asset. Also he's played much less than Byrne. Less play = less opportunity for those trys
Ha, just wait until Kearney has a huge game in the final game before the tests.
I wish Ferris hadn't been injured. Im not convinced on front row yet, but I think Poc and Doc in the 2nd row, because of their ecperience together. Wallace, Williams, and Heaslip in the back row. Phillips to Jones, Roberts and O'Driscoll. Fitzgerald, Bowe and Kearney (Possibly Byrne) in the back three
yeah i would defo agree that byrne is thetop full back. kearney is solid but lak imagination in attack.
although im upset they didnt take armatige as he has been consistently brillat for clu and contry at centre and fullback. mobility in the back row will be important on hard ground so its a shame ferris s gonna but with wallis and croft i thnk we are in good hands. and odriscoll and roberts are my vote for midfield.
From what i saw in the six nations i would start lee bryne ahead of rob kearney, and this from an irish man and a leinster supporter.
However i think rob kearney may be a bit more consistent with his performances so rob is still in with a shout if he gets a chance to play in the next game.
Nah they're both good, Kearney hasn't got as much time to prove himself yet but he's a class player, so is Byrne, but he could have lost the game with that one knock on against the Cheetahs, these little mistakes can make such a big difference, we could have been talking about how he lost the game right now instead of how good he is, shit changes so fast and fans change opinion very easy.
The fact is they are both good and will likely play in the tests
England had hardly none except for a few fat props! LOL

Correct, keep in mind that not even a 3rd string side lost to the clubs...
Also that overseas based start who played a huge part in the lions/tri nation etc was not considered(Frans Steyn, Jdv)
And if M Steyn kicked his goals, They prob would have beaten Ireland

the lions were missing o driscoll, probably their best player, and jamie roberts. an awsome centre pair which they did without.
they were also missing adam jones, who had been very good. both teams were not at their first choice teams.
