As far as I read what the Sahara's owner said and the poor room conditions as many travellers stated at tripadvisor, sadly I think the Sahara will, indeed, being the next on the list...BC: Tropicana, Plaza & Riviera has been remodeled since then...

When I called to the Riviera related to a reservation that I made in there and they asked me my Player's Card and I mentioned the "Sahara", she told me this one will be imploded after their close date (May 16th)...

So it turns out I was wrong...Circus Circus wont be next...Actully,to tell you the truth,a news flash here in Vegas (3/11/2011) stated that The Sahara is closing nits doors in a few Weeks or maybe Days from now.My Neighbors work there,and they said the same.

Well "ground" has been started on the NEW Riviera but due to the economy has pretty much come to a grinding halt. So I think either the Riviera OR The Excalibur.

The Excalibur has been a blight on the main strip ever since it opened and now its just really disgusting, inside and out.

I have heard circus circus will go as mgm believe it doesn't make good use or the site, it doesn't. Think it would be good if they did do the plan to keep the adventure dome!! Think they will def do something with the big harrah's central plot but when credit crunch is over. But think the Excaliber and Luxor must stay

I heard that they are going to demolish circus circus but not the adventuredome and build the new Circus Circus around it like the Aladdin Performance center

Vegas World used to be where the Stratosphere is now (parts of it still remain).

The Landmark property is now a parking lot for the Las Vegas Convention Center.

There is very little resemblance between the Stratosphere and the Landmark.

After People have worked hard on the hotels, I'll bet that the builders are surprised that their creation(s) are gone. But the hotel played their part in Vegas's history.

the black and white photo you used of el rancho with the windmill is not the same el rancho that was imploded. that el rancho burned to the ground in 1960 and was situated across the road from the new el rancho

I'm glad you pointed that out. The El Rancho that was imploded had formerly been the Thunderbird, another venerable hotel casino from the 50's.

el rancho had to go though, i remember first arriving in vegas in early 1998 and what a eyesore that place was, all boarded up, rubbish and weeds everywhere and homeless sleeping out the back, hard to believe that building lay vacant and derelict nearly 10 years on the strip

Luxor, that I can't see coming down. Circus Circus, The Riviera those I can see.

Imperial Palace and O'Sheas both at once...I can see that as well.

PS: I saw the Hacienda implosion on Dec 31 '96 but my personal fave is The Dunes, that looked like one hell of a show :)

I actually heard circus circus might be next because MGM believes it doesn't make economic use of it's 44 acres. From what I heard was that they were just gonna tear it down and build a megaresort using the same theme and name, as for the adventure dome, I dunno.
