  • I LOVE your videos!!! I have learned soooo much, it has helped me in teaching my son. Thank you! I have to be careful when I drive and hear songs you have done, I automatically want to sign to it! ;)

  • this video is awesome!! i know ASL but I'm not so good at it but my sister signs (she is hearing but she is learning to become an ASL interpreter) and your videos really help me with my signing :)

  • it was a little to fast but im a slow learner and thats me so ya but great signing

  • I've almost learned the whole song! thanks so much for breaking it down :)

  • Hello, I love this video and I am for sure subscribing! I want to learn sign so bad! as well as teach my son (5months old)

I am wondering, when you do the signs does it matter which side you favor? ex. when you sign just to see you smile, does it matter if you use right or left?

I've been mirroring your videos so i've been using left. Shall I change to right before I learn too much more?

    Than k you :)

  • You are awesome! I'm trying to find you on FB and can't seem to locate you........I can't stop watching your vids............you are an incredible signer!!!

  • Ally, thank you so much for your songs. I have a certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing but studied it in a Masters program so I don't have my signing down at all. I teach hard of hearing oral students. I really want to learn sign and you are helping me tremendously. I need the conceptual explained to me after the song. I need slower songs like you do with repeating stanzas. Thank you so much. Sic Em Bears.

  • this has really helped me thank you! you are doing perfect

  • That was Amazing! The best song interpreter on youtube I have found.. by far! Yes, some of the others who sign word for word are "easier" to understand IN English BUT the bottom line is, you are signing it in ASL (the proper way) and to me, that is what really matters! I will definitely be looking up more videos by you! Thank you! You ROCK!

  • can you do this for more videos please!?

  • One question i had and just to clarify. When you're signing, Proper Nouns do you always spell out each word? Ive always seen people spell out words, as well as doing the hand gestures for actual words, if that makes sense

  • i love your videos. i am in a asl class and its amazing to me to watch this. i really want you to do a video to landslide by the dixie chicks!! its one of my favorite songs. :)

  • I enjoyed watching this! I love the how-to's at the end! They are very helpful! I am trying to learn ASL so watching you sign is at a fast pace for me, but of course I am learning! So in time I'll catch on quickly! But don't worry about your pace! It is fine! :)

  • ur an amazing person....thank you for signing things and teaching us how to do it:D i would really like to hear the song reason...by hoobastank...if you can do it...if you cant or dont want to...im cool with it ;D

  • Your eyes are so expressive

  • hello Ally...I was wondering can you sign the song as you hear it....or do u have to change it...I am learning ASL on my own and i sign the worship music at my church..but I sign it word for word..I do take out the small words that are not important..please let me know ..thanks and GOD BLESS

  • very cool!!! :D

  • wow im really surprise that you're pretty good enough to sign with a song and im very impressed! i just saw you in a lot videos and it all good cuz there is no mistaken. :D when you said just to see you smile then it made me smile so i want you to know that you keep it up with your beauitful sign because i believe that you made every deaf people see your video and it made their days just because of you ((: by the way im hard of hearing...sorta like deaf but you just made my day!

  • Good Job, yes you would use two fingers walking toward you when she is coming to you with 'him'

it's fun to watch you sign, you go very well

  • I think you did a really good job on teaching us how to sign. Don't worry if you feel you're going to fast because, we can always pause it and rewind it if we need to.

  • THAT WAS amazing! continue please ^___^

  • Your the best at these how to things, and I was wondering if oyu ever had the time if you would do 1234 by the Plain White T's?

  • wow, you fingerspell fast

  • So I've watched plenty of your videos and I haven't seen any of your 'How to' parts and I was shocked to hear you actually speak, LOL! Haha, anyways, great video, loved the 'how to' and keep doing more :)

  • I think you did great, and the how ro was very enlightening ppl need to know that it doesnt take all the words but expressions are very important. Thanks

  • @allyballybabe BTW, Thanx 4 uplaoding these vids. they really help. asl is new to me, but my sis has been deaf in 1 ear since she was 2 yrs old, so me n my fam r all learning asl just in case something happens to the other ear. :)

(she can't read lips very well)

  • @allyballybabe you did a really good job! i understood everything. but just outta curiosity, and i mean no offense by asking this, but how come you dont do it word for word? is it because its not proper and deaf people do not understand it or is it just easier when youre doing the songs?

  • Do you know any websites I could go to to learn ASL:?

  • i love the way u sign u do a good job was woundering if u would try the song "mother" from ashanti im tryiin to learn if i learned 'daddys little girl" by frankie j which is a great song u should try it too i took 2 years in high school and love sign thinkin of goin to college for it well ur doin a great job keep up the good work

  • aw, hey that was pretty good/cool.

  • Ally, your videos are amazing. ive only reciently started learning sign language. I like in the UK though so i should probs be learning SEE sign lol but i find ASL to be so interesting and beautiful to watch lol...is that a bad thing? lol i luv watching how you interperate a song and i put the sound off to see if i can understand lol i know you said you dnt do how to's any more but the ones you have done are so helpfull and have taught me a lot lol ur great x

  • Thanks i love it

  • Your adorable...i wish i could make you really smile! C:

  • amazing~

  • WOW!!! You are absolutely amazing! I wish I knew as much sign as you did!!! I try and sign at church for our youth choir, but it's not as easy as it looks lol. keep up the good work girl, your awesome!!! God bless :D

  • I loved it! and the way you explain the song was great! I am new to signing and for that explanation at the end helped me to understand better. Thank you! Keep up the good work :)

  • i liked it..:) it helped me alot thank you :) and i was wondering if you could do one on "our song" taylor swift? can you tell me or get back with me if you do? and thanks again

  • That was very inspiring

  • All I can say is Wonderful!

  • it is good

  • it ios good

  • This girl is sooooooo pertty!!!!!!!!

  • Can't express how important it is that you are taking your time to do what you do. Our Deaf community is so important, and they deserve to experience all we can give. Music is one way to build the bridge between the Deaf and Hearing world. Please keep it up. ASL student

  • I can definitely imagine how hard it must be to talk using *both* your hands and your voice, so kudos to you for trying (at the end). I talk using both, but I don't speak as much ASL as I do Signed English...yeah, I know, I know. Not exactly the same thing (which is why I'm trying to learn ASL more and use the SE a little less). Anyway, GREAT job-- I learn more and more ASL thanks to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the 'How To' is really helpful. Knowing, (now), that your not doing it word/for/word is.... better. I've actually first tried to sign out as much as i could from 'Tik Tok' by .. lol you .. and i am catching on but all the smaller hand gestures are harder to catch but -tik tok- is the first one i saw from you. so i naturally started with -tik tok-. now that i know you did more (slower) songs, i'll "learn" more. i've catch on to the slower songs better but still working on it. Thanks for the help!

  • what does the sign at 1:48 after face mean?

    btw- love ur videos! :)

  • Love the song and the signing!!!!! Great job!!!!!

  • Do not talk about a Ex unless asked about past relationship, it could seem

you still have feelings or not over that person and make the other person

on date seem like a rebound or that the relationship will go nowhere

  • That was great you are now my new favorite person!

  • this is awesom im going to do this song for my asl final! so fun watching somone so cute sign it too ;)

  • You did great! don't worry about it... If everyone watches enough we all can get it.

  • added to you to my favorites you are g8 abit fast for me but keep comming back to learn thank you

  • this is the first time i've ever heard you speak! haha

  • OMG! I have to see and learn all your videos for one of my best friends who is deaf. I am trying to learn asl. I wonder if you have someone deaf in your life. I hope I can get as good as you are. Wish you were here in Louisiana. I'd pay you to teach me. I'm impatient to "talk" to holly instead of text to her!

  • Congratulations. You are both a fine signer and a wonderful teacher. Your "how to" segment was very enlightening. Again, thank you.

  • Smile in my heart to enjoy these songs. A gift to you is to share, donwhite.net a song he wrote, I Know What Love Is, part of it follows "There is a little girl with pretty curls, she's about five years old. She's waiting at the gate for her dad to come home. When he pulls round the corner in his shiny white car, she feels the magic light up in her heart. He picks her up and he holds her. He says he missed her and he's glad that she is here. As the child lays her head on his shoulder, ...
  • why you are ur mouth talk much? Cuz you ur mouth talk much.

  • why you ur mouth talk? Cuz you ur mouth talk. you are deaf or hard of hearing?? you are asl sign language

  • i think what you are doing is noble :))

  • You are the type of person this world needs more needs more of.God Bless You.

  • you do have a beautiful smile, I'm glad I got to see it!

  • I saw you on world new tonight. You are fantastic. Great job. I hope the best for you. Keep up the good work.

  • I think this is FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! What a great thing to see in a world of shitheads and losers who need to trash others.

    GREAT JOB KIDDO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i AM SHARING THIS WITH EVERYONE!!!

  • Oh hey! I saw that you had to fingerspell "Amarillo" we have a sign for it in TX, so you don't have to fingerspell it everytime. :P

If you want to know it ;) :

Non-dominant hand is a closed "5" facing your dominant hand; dominant hand is an "a" handshape with the outside(the nail side) of your thumb touching your palm, and then you make a "drawing" movement(wiggle your hand, essentially) and go down sort-of-diagonally

I hope that made sense! Amazing job as always!!! ;D

  • U are amazing!

  • A little too fast for us biginers but other wise....! Fantastic!!!!

  • i'm so glad you are teaching it in asl word order. you're a beautiful signer!

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to teach us this languaje. You just made my day! Keep that spirit, and like a freind of mine, the best thing you can do to those ignorant people, is do the same to them. IGNORE THEM! :)

  • i love this video so much. i dont know the words to the song by heart but i love how you expressed it.

  • This is soooo helpful. I've watched it like 5-10 times lol. It's very descriptive.

  • Wow. You're amazing. How long had you been learning ASL before you did this? I would love to do something like this one day and be as good as you :)

  • Thx it really helps me :) continue like this you're perfect

  • Man! I so totally love watching your videos! Your are such an inspiration. You know, I've been considering learning sign. I almost went stone deaf as a child, so it probably wouldn't hurt to learn. Plus, my room-mate is deaf. Keep on making videos girl! Your such a breath of fresh air to watch. Take care. Your newest fan.

  • Thank you. I have to sign a song or story for my class. I am just learning (3 classes!). Your video helped alot. I will be looking for more!

    Thanks again.

  • You are really awesome! I think it's wonderful what you do. My sister learned sign from you :)

  • Thank you for the how-to! (I know that I'm behind the times, but I'm watching your videos in order...) You're a great teacher and I'm sure that you are an amazing interpreter/teacher for the deaf.

  • i really love the way you do sign language.... i am very amaze of how you do it... so i think there are no rules when you interpret songs... it would only be base on how you understand each line.... now, I'm cleared with it... when i observe your sign language, you don't do it word for word... you just get the meaning :D thanks....

  • THAT,S COOL I WISH I KNEW HOW TO DO THAT

  • I love your tutoring, I AM BRAZILIAN AND WORKING WITH DEAF IN BRAZIL I AM FLUENT IN BRAZILIAN SIGNS HAVE A SCHOOL IN SÃO PAULO, IN THE SOUTH PART OF THE COUNTRY, I AM VERY HAPPY IN WORKING WITH THEM, I HAVE MANY DREAMS AND ONE OF THEM IS POWER TO TRAVEL TO THE STATES U.S. AND LEARN THE LANGUAGE OF SIGNS AMERICAN, ONE DAY YOU SAB can I come over, FORGIVE MY ENGLISH IS VERY BAD, sorry!

ives signed songs before but we did word for word/a bit of self interpretation...so thins helps a bunch....

  • wonderful! I love watching your videos.. the songs are great.. and its facinating to watch the words through your expressions, and hands.. Keep up the good work.. and do you take suggestions for songs?

  • Im going deaf, but i love music, so i like to pick songs that i like, and learn them so my vocabulary gets bigger

  • YOU TALK LOL YOU DID VERY VERY GOOD I NOT GOOD AT ASL MY DAD IS A DEAF PERSON SO...

  • Wow! you should be a teacher if not! Great Job!

  • you did great. i whach all of your vedio.

  • you did relly good. i love all of your vedio the one in like the most is whaching you. the singing was not that fast but it was slow at the same time.

  • I watch these videos with my girls. I enjoy your videos Thank You!

  • Hey Ally!

My name is Matt. I am also hearing, and have an extensive vocabulary and fluency in ASL. I have been working on translating a few songs myself, and I have one up already. Check out my channel! :) "The Dance" by Garth Brooks was my first song.

  • hey, I jist wanna say I love yer videos, especially the how-to ones. Please do more of them. And I have a suggestion (well more of a question I guess) about the "When you came walkin up to me with him" part. Would it make sense to, After you signed YOU, HIM, THE TWO OF YOU, to sign BOTH and leave yer hand as the U handshape that that sign ends in to do the walking up part? I'm still in the early stages of learning ASL so feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.

  • wow! this is awesome!

  • okay, i'm trying. lol. but it is really fast. can you slow the "i don't know how.." part, please? thank you! =D

    P.S i thin you're freaking AMAZING!

  • I loved it! I think you taught very well. It was easy to understand and now I know why the ASL is kinda backwards, like the negation is at the end of the sentence. I never knew that. I guess I'll learn in my ASL class in August. I wish we had ASL in high school. I would have LOVED to learn that instead of Spanish. But hey, w/e. I'll learn it here with you! And Dr. Bill Vicars' web site. Thanks Ally! You're the best!

  • you sign so beautifully

  • I always love watching your videos! Do you think you could do the song "You'll be in my Heart"?

  • I thought it was awesome!!

  • how do you pick the songs?

  • Do more like this! I'm trying to learn ASL and these are soo helpful. You're fantastic to watch.. I didn't realize how much the quality could differ but you're very clear with your motions =D

  • Thanks so much for teaching how to sign this song! I've been trying to do songs... did PSE when I didn't know any better (haha!), but now I try to do more ASL. It sure is hard sometimes. I have a bad habit of singing with the song... gotta stop doing that! haha! Makes it harder to sign it in ASL... Thanks again so much!

  • your voice is so sweet

  • Really love your signing and love when you teach the signs because it helps me to understand the concepts of signing, Thanks a bunch!!

  • wats the point of not doing it word for word if u dont u might as well just sign it like a story with out the music.

  • Love this! I won't get bored watching your videos.

  • You are so talented, I've watch lots of your videos and I love them all. I hope you don't get tired doing what you do. I posted some of your videos on my facebook...Most of all, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I am lucky to be an audience...keep it up!

  • I must admit I was a little skeptical about how songs could be done in ASL, but you have removed all doubt. Your concept is very interesting, also, the way you explained it made a lot of sense. Keep up the great work and may God bless you and your wonderful skill.

  • I WANNA SEE YOU DO MEGADETH, IRON MAIDEN, OR METALLICA IN SIGN !!!!!! then i'll decide if your actually good or not. till then average

  • Comment removed

  • you are so awesome!!! I wish i knew sign like you do!!! God could really use you! i know your mom must be so proud of you!!!

  • really nice. like the teaching. don't mind if you don't do it, though. like the songs in asl. it's fun.

  • ally,

i have two granddaughters 18 months and five they love your vids , i am trying to teach them to sign. could you do "selena gomez" you are the thunder, i am the lighting? in a how to vid? we are huge fans

  • ally

  • i think what you are doing here is really great i have a few deaf friends that complain that there really isn't many songs one in ASL i'm promoting you on my facebook lol

  • awesome!

  • great video. im not complaining about the video because trust me you are truly making a good contribution but i have a suggestion, maybe you should gloss more and instead of annotations, put captions. you and captain valor are my favorite

  • Hey Ally, Hey i would love it if u could possible sign a song for me, I know ASL but sadly i'm forgetting most of it... :-( The song I would like you to sign for me is "Here without you - 3 Doors Down", and if u could do another one " You and Me - Lifehouse" Thak you so much I would love it if you could sign these songs for me... :)

  • Hey Ally, I love your videos! I especially love the "how to" instruction that you included at the end of this song. That was tremendously helpful. I'd love to see more like this! You're a good teacher! Thank you so very much!

  • Hey Ally, I love your videos! I especially love the "how to" instruction that you included at the end of this song. That was tremendously helpful. I'd love to see more like this! You're a good teacher! Thank you so very much!

  • like the lessons at the end , question why is it hard to sign and talk at same time.....

  • Ally i am deaf but only read lips am trying to learn AMSL but am slow anyway i love it when you have close captions its help me to see what you are signing and helps me to learn the signing thanks for the CC

  • Hi Ally! Thank you for your great signing & kind teaching! I'm HoH & I appreciate that you posted the lyrics underneath that went along with your signing!

I studied ASL in Middle School & college, but sadly I've forgotten most of it. I'd like to take it up again, though am thinking of S.E.E (Signing Exact English) instead of ASL. What are your thoughts on this? I kind of feel like even if it takes a little longer, it would feel more like natural speaking to me, personally, you know?

  • @oddfellowfloyd SEE sign is used ONLY by kids in school. Deaf adults or others (younger people) rarely-if ever see any deaf adults using SEE sign. You would be wasting your time... Learn ASL.. Lot of great web sites for vocab... Here is usually someone with one more class teaching someone below them.. find some deaf people to hang with!

  • @oddfellowfloyd SEE takes alot longer and it really is a waste of time and honestly kids use it because they want to be correct

  • @oddfellowfloyd I would advise you to study ASL instead of SEE if you have the chance. Although SEE would feel more natural from an English mindset, and truer to the English language, ASL is a language in itself and is more widely accepted and used by the Deaf community.

  • frankedward - trying to teach myself sign and love the videos. I understand

interpretation much better after watching you and several others.

  • this is the 1 video that i actually hear your voice. Different but keep doing what your doing your great! this is the last year they are offering asl at school so your videos are helping me alot..thank you.

  • Love the way you sign I am in my first semester of learning sign and it helps me to watch people signing songs and seeing the order sentences are supposed to be signed thank you =)

  • Excellent!

  • Wait, im not being rude, but r u Deaf?

  • are you stupid you can tell if shes deaf or not as u see she cant really lip all the words cause she dont talk.....

  • @jessesnail2 actually thats the way you move your lips when you sign wether youre deaf or not.

  • @jessesnail2 did you not watch the full video??? she explains how to sign songs in the end... by TALKING... when you sign, you mouth the words of the sign, not the words of the song... as well as making the facial expressions that fit that sign... wether you're Deaf or not.

  • @jessesnail2 hello!!! ARE YOU STUPID??? No she isnt deaf u dumbass. She is is hearing and she wants deaf people to be able to experience music also!!!

  • @jessesnail2 and i know how to sign because i am in school to be a sign langugae interperter. and just saying if she is deaf she wldnt know how the song goes she wld be signing it with no emotion cuz she wldnt be able to hear it

  • Thank you for doing these videos, it is very interesting to watch something new and to learn it. I'm just beginning to learn ASL so this helps a lot! Thanks Ally!

  • I like they way you are doing this video. I am just beginning to learn ASL and I have joined a deaf Bible Study. Thank You for taking your time to help others learn.

  • I would love to see you do "You can let go now daddy." It is a beautiful song.

  • gotta say, your signing is awesome. very good asl structure.. facial expressions fit perfect and everything. you really look like your coda.. really really good. i started learning asl about a year ago, im almost always around deaf or hard-of-hearing people and im thinkin im gonna start trying to do songs. anymore tips?

  • Hey kiddo, you did great...your awsome...and don't let the fools get to you atleast your making a contribution...it seems others just can't appreciate what your doing to help others...maybe they just wasn't raised properly...and need to get a life..

  • hey, is anyone forcing you to watch this video? nope. not at all.

please feel free to NOT watch if you are going to choose to be so ignorant.
