ok I just got the GS2, and something thing is bothering me. The HOME button. if I press it it should take me HOME, if I press it twice shouldn't show ALL the layouts (all 7 of em)? Well mine did that ONCE and now it doesn't.

I know if I hold the HOME button it should show recent task, and it does that. But double press doesn't work. Help? Should I take it back?

Samsung Galaxy 2: You can use 2fingers on the home screen and u get all pages on one screen. You can also select the page no and move it back and forward too.

The Galaxy S2 is nice, but the physical button and the TouchWiz interface just let it down. The Galaxy name is also ageing with every device that they use it for. It's getting boring. In contrast, the HTC Sense UI is definitely better, plus the higher resolution screen, so I'd go for the Sensation.

HTC Sensation is a great phone, I own it myself.

The processor may be not as fast as the Tegra 2 processor.

But it's way better economical.

The Graphics on the Sensation are way better. more then double performance then the

mali-400 (correct me if i'm wrong)

The only problem with sensation is internal memory, sense eates alot.

If you think HTC Sensation is slow, you're totally wrong. I managed to get a amazing score

of 8200 with CF-bench @ 1,5 ghz

@NLSoftwareHardware first of all, Tegra 2 is not the fastest processor. If believing tests, the fastest platform is TI OMAP 4430 with defaultly overclocked PowerVR SGX540. As I know, Exynos is a bit faster than both Tegra 2 and Qualcomm MSM8260 if talking hardware, and overall Galaxy S II is A LOT faster than Sensation because of smaller resolution of the screen. Galaxy S II is simply the fastest phone in the world yet.

Sensation had a lot of bugs and lag issues. GS2 has better specs all around too. I don't know why anyone would pick the Sensation over the GS2. Maybe if you love sense that much, but a launcher can kill Touchwiz.

Before you get a Samsung, look at the support record as far as software upgrades go from them and the community. The community cannot do much if no source is released. Their way of upgrading is making a new device. They just released a statement that Galaxy S will not get ICS.

HTC Sensation still doesn't have even CyanogenMod and MIUI. So if talking about updates, Sensation is a waaaay worse choice compared to Galaxy S2.

@mucomyst I guess kernel is based on Samsung sources because of drivers that are taken from official firmware, so it is older than on Galaxy Nexus, for example, the rest of system is based on official Android 4.0 sources. What about Galaxy S, - European version of this phone, which is called i9000, has got official firmware with Android 2.3.6, which can be get by FOTA without any unlocks. Dunno about Captivate and Vibrant, though.

@mucomyst what about HTC devices, - their greatest disadvantage is the lock of internal memory, which doesn't allow you to install custom firmware by fans of that phone. You can unlock it in service or buying yourself a thing which is called XTC Clip, but it costs money. So if HTC stops supporting your device, you can forget about any updates for your phone. That's why Samsung is a lot better. Nowadays almost every Samsung Android smartphone has got ICS released by fans. Even Galaxy 550!

This tests are good to see de maximum performance of each phone but in real terms its relative because all the aplications aviable at the android market run at maximum performance in both phones. Its nice to have a very fast car but if in the city your limit speed is at 60 Mph its a waste of engine. I have de Sensation and my uncle the S2. Both phones are exaclty the same. My only recomendation for you is that if you like plastic, go for S2 and if you like aluminum, go for the Sensation.

Galaxy is newer, better screen with SAMOLED + , better CPU if you get the T-Mobile version, it's 1.5ghz dual core instead of 1.2ghz on the sensation. The GS2 also has 200mb more ram.

Although it seems the Samsung is a bit quicker than the Sensation, Tmobile's service runs slower than VZ or Sprint, therefore, I assume it isn't worth purchasing the Samsung if Tmobile is the only provider selling the phone?! @brekdwny i bought the samsung galaxy S2 and it sucks, it has network issue(connecting to the via edge and signal unstable no problem with my service provider i checked my sim card) and the other issue i have is when the display is on the lowest brightness level there is a yellowish tint on the left side of the screen and it has no NFC

i bought my phone from sri lanka with android 2.3.3

i will not recomend this phone to anyone

Don't make the same mistake as me. My HTC Sensation GPS is faulty and doesn't detect any satellites. Also, the reception is so shitty that I have to use my friend's phone sometimes. I'm switching to the Galaxy Nexus ASAP. Screw you HTC.
