So my mouse went first and he got 1 min 7 sec. not bad right? Well his hamster took literally an hour to get through the maze. We actually started watching tv while he was in it.

A maze with non-seethrough walls might be a little less difficult for them to process and memorize. I don't think rodents understand transparent or vaguely translucent barriers very much. I know human babies can't decipher them.

you can get that maze on ebay, there are usually several there, but only the mini ones. ive been looking for the regular sized ones for several months and still havent found one. do you think a Syrian (teddy bear hamster) could fit in that one?

I don't think so. I think they stopped manufacturing the habitrail mini since dwarf hamsters and mice are pretty content in the regular habitrail. I think there's a cardboard maze that's part of the habitrail ovo, but that's not as much fun for anyone involved.
