if you played the 3 halos and you actually know the history behind the game then you would know that there were not huge time spands between the 3 games. And in the books u find out that the Spartans trained on a planet and almost all of them were wiped out. Supposedly Mastercheif and 52 other spartans are the only ones left. Ever since the first Halo there was all those cool things that they had in Halo 3 u just didnt see them.
