  • The most amazing recording is Helge Rosvaenge's version. A voice with power & range. An almost impossible aria to sing. Mr Potgieter is a fine singer to even attempt it.

  • nicht schlecht. Joseph Schmidt bleibt unerreicht .

  • Schmidt's version is the most musically satisfying of all versions i have heard.Perhaps his gift puts him worlds apart from others.Thats just my opinion. However all these singers are gifted.Just different

  • Es gibt noch 2. und 3. Lied aus "Postillon".Beide mit hohes D!

  • He's a bit flat in some spots; his high notes are kept quite short, like he expects his voice to break if he holds it longer than a mere second. He's obviously playing it very safe. His High D lacks tone. Very disappointing, especially when compared with Gedda's versions (French and German).

  • @Godless1313 Gedda's is one of the best vocals I've ever heard.

  • a bit too much reverb in the recording but a great tone and arrangement - many thanks

  • Ganz gut, aber ihr müsst euch dieses schöne Lied auch einmal von Josef Schmidt anhören, der singt es mit sehr viel mehr Herzblut

  • what a wonderful version:D I love this aria
