Watchmen as CGI porn? Watchmen may of had CGI but it only enhanced the characters and the story. In transformers, CGI(Special FX) was all it had. There was no real plot to it and the characters were underdeveloped. You can't tell you would go to Watchmen just for the FX? The FX is just a small part of it.
I am in full agreement with the critic. The element gotten wrong in the 2007 adaptation was, Bay seemed to think people come to see actors in a film like Tranformers. Oops...no way it's all about dazzle me with effects. Pretty girls and child actors are okay, but I don't know about you but, I go to a movie like Transformers to be DAZZLED.

Wow ok... When I was dragged to the drive-in to see transforms I thought it was going to be a rolling pile of sh*t, cause I thought they shouldnt remake the classics. I grew up on the original G1 series as a kid, and am still a big fan. And I for one, liked these movies, i take them for what they are...pure entertainment. Yes, they are superficial, but still fun to watch. Good and evil alien robots that transform into vehicles, talk, fight and blow shit up...that's enough for me. I just don't like some of unnecessary humor from human characters (some is funny) but its used too often in these movies. But other than that, I can't wait for part 3.

He actually did....to create chaos. He does a lot of philosophizing about why he's doing what he's doing...it's clear in his disturbed mind and we get snippets of how he became this way, not knowing which background story he tells is real. But that's not what's important, his actions in the now matter and we know why he's doing it...to watch the world burn, to give this city a better class of criminal but most of all to prove that the rules that hold society together are destroyable.
that good needs a little bit of motivation to become evil. He wants to prove we're all animals one disaster away from being civil to evil. Ultimately, he destroys Harvey Dent as his ultimate victory.
The second movie had so many continuity errors! At the end of the first film, people knew transformers existed! Now in the second film, one guy says the government had covered it up. WTF?

They hardly fought and well you got a theater full of 12 year olds with low attention span's, although i agree the movie kinda sucked ass but not for the same reason. I like the LATF movies even though had flaws and where nothing like the G1 cartoons. I will appect the fact the TF movies are doing their own stroy much like Armada was.
AH but Armada was clearly a remake of G1. it followed it plot point by plotpoint and even the Mini-cons where clearly based on the G1 MicroBots and Power Masters.

What he is saying at 5:34 ish is exactly right. I've pulled out Transformers a couple times and just skipped throuugh the film to watch the action scenes. But juts the other day I started to watch the Dark Knight, thinking I was going to skip around to some of the cooler scenes. But I found out I couldn't very often at all. I think I skipped like 2 scenes at the beginning, and then I just gave in and watched the whole masterpeice uninterrupted.
i had the same with the Lord of the rings, on a boring day i just figured ill watch some battles, and i ended up watching the hole 6 hour special version in two days :)
there is just nothing in these movies. and so even the action is flat, what if Sam died? so what? what if Prime died so what?

Movie had damn good effects but the storyline should have been frikken revised multiple times and not only that they only threw in a few more expendable characters, heck even the deceptacons only had a grip load of expendable reinforcements... only in an alternate timeline where the Alternate Micheal Bay who excels in both effects and stories to make Transformers into something we really long for.
the second i have now seen was good for the 1st half but the second lost its intenceness the second they went to egypt the timeline got all out of place, it took them an hour to run over a hill, the biggest decepticon in transformers history took 2 seconds to die by transformer who coul only turn into a mini van, and the main enemy was killed by taking an old bots parts which they could have done all along making all the progress inbetween pointless.
They couldn't have done that all along because Optimus was out of commission, and he's the only one who can defeat the Fallen, so we had to wait for Optimus to be revived before he could take on Jetfire's parts. No other Autobot would have been capable of handling that extra power.
well i think your opinion was a little harsh transformermers rotf had a very good story to it. it also had the robot firghts that everyone enjoyed and the have you even seen it yet, it was good. the story was amazing and it reaveals how autobots and decepticons got spead apart. and if you saw the movie you would realize that the fallen is not megatron. but i wish that the movie would have more demolisher and devistator in it. so i dont think that you have seen the movie yet. it is your opinion!!

You are absolutely right. Transformers has the potential to be like the Matrix or Star Wars and that is what I wanted, being a G1 head. However, Michael Bay is too shallow as a director. When it comes to action, he is at the top of the class but everything else is mediocre at best.

The fact they list "Shia LaBouf" and "Megan Fox" instead of the voice actors for the actual Transformers means that they're more focused on the 2D human character story instead of the actual Transformers that the movie should focus on. It's called "Transformers" goddammit, don't reduce them to props for Special Effects and neat explosions.

Yes, they finally gave Megatron and Starscream personalities, and the effect shows IMMIEDIATELY! Both of them work far better in this movie and you actually get a sense of both purpose and villany. it was actually like seing the megatron from the series finally get on screen.. Starscream could still be a lot better though.
This movie was the shit, and it did well what the first one did wrong. Absolutely loved everything about it, and this was everything the first one should have been!
I understand that it was different from the cartoons MPC, but you should look at it through the eyes of the non transformer fans. This was a way to introduce people to the concept, and the onyl way to do that is to have human characters that we can relate to. I loved the first one, its a good summer flick.
You hit it on the nail TMPC. Transformers was way too focused on the humans and their struggles. There was such a lack of actual Transformer action, the movie was pathetic. And whatever was there was a real blur and not really entertaining. I thought the last fight between Megatron and Optimus was going to be epic, but it was just Optimus being thrown around.
Watching the first movie, I found nice visuals as everyone else did, but I couldn't pinpoint the other negative elements because, quite simply, I had no idea what the Transformers were until relatively recently (before the 2007 movie, of course). So I had no idea what to expect, really. And it wasn't until about a year or so later that I actually watched some of the cartoon on youtube.
i didn't really watch transformers when i was a kid.. it wasn't that big thing here in france... so when i saw the first movie i took it for what it was, a special effect show nothing more.. i mean pepole can't complain that much ... imo dragonball evolution was way worse... i don't have any expections for the second movie .. i go see it tonight .. a lay back with some popcorn movie...
MPC, now there are 2 types of movies: A) Movies that make you care about the plot and characters and not so much about the action. And B) Movies in which you want to see the CGI money shots and shit being blown up.

The Fallen is the name of an actual character, originally created in the Transformers Comics as one of the first 13 Transformers, and one of the few who turned against Primus and became the first Decepticon.
In the new movie, the Fallen is depicted as an ultimate evil who was trapped in another dimension, and communicated with Megatron, inspiring him to form the Decepticons. 'Revenge' is the perfect term for an ultimate evil returning.

i think u should listen more carefully about what the guy says about it.
The storyline is dry, no need to offend and and for the sake of the democracy as u say your opinion, for the same token leave the guy do the same.
now i do not expect to learn a lesson of life out of transformers, but as moviepreview... says some more flavors in the storyline will spice it up and make it more than just a great cgi film.
i love the effects and this kind o stuff but me at 32yars would expect a dash more...

He actually did....to create chaos. He does a lot of philosophizing about why he's doing what he's doing...it's clear in his disturbed mind and we get snippets of how he became this way, not knowing which background story he tells is real. But that's not what's important, his actions in the now matter and we know why he's doing it...to watch the world burn, to give this city a better class of criminal but most of all to prove that the rules that hold society together are destroyable.

The second movie had so many continuity errors! At the end of the first film, people knew transformers existed! Now in the second film, one guy says the government had covered it up. WTF?
That has to be one of the biggest mistakes of all time. Its just as bad as when they said the Earth was the center of the universe!

i completely disaqree. the first was actually a very qudd movie. i think the second one suckedd because it was mostly robots with stupid dialoque. like the last 40 minutes were just robots fightinq and explosives almost every1 in my theater was textinq or on the phone. it was soo borinq. it made the story more shallow. i understand its transformers bt robot fiqhtinq the entire time look confusinq and qives me a headache. the first one was wayy better.

What he is saying at 5:34 ish is exactly right. I've pulled out Transformers a couple times and just skipped throuugh the film to watch the action scenes. But juts the other day I started to watch the Dark Knight, thinking I was going to skip around to some of the cooler scenes. But I found out I couldn't very often at all. I think I skipped like 2 scenes at the beginning, and then I just gave in and watched the whole masterpeice uninterrupted.

Movie had damn good effects but the storyline should have been frikken revised multiple times and not only that they only threw in a few more expendable characters, heck even the deceptacons only had a grip load of expendable reinforcements... only in an alternate timeline where the Alternate Micheal Bay who excels in both effects and stories to make Transformers into something we really long for.

the second i have now seen was good for the 1st half but the second lost its intenceness the second they went to egypt the timeline got all out of place, it took them an hour to run over a hill, the biggest decepticon in transformers history took 2 seconds to die by transformer who coul only turn into a mini van, and the main enemy was killed by taking an old bots parts which they could have done all along making all the progress inbetween pointless.

They couldn't have done that all along because Optimus was out of commission, and he's the only one who can defeat the Fallen, so we had to wait for Optimus to be revived before he could take on Jetfire's parts. No other Autobot would have been capable of handling that extra power.

The Fallen is not Megatron, but why did Megatron become his bitch? Even against Unicron a Robot the size of a planet, he tried to betray him with his "I don't bow down to anybody!" attitude. When did he ever say it wasn't his opinion?

It should have been from the robot's point of view. The robot fights were okay, some of them but what the f**k was with the shaky camera? Would it kill Michael Bay to get a wide shot? You are absolutely right. Transformers has the potential to be like the Matrix or Star Wars and that is what I wanted, being a G1 head. However, Michael Bay is too shallow as a director. When it comes to action, he is at the top of the class but everything else is mediocre at best.

It's an action film - ingredients: fast editing, comedy, hot actors, FX, spectacle!
Of course the film is going to focus on the human element of the story - no-one is gonna watch CGI robots for 2 hours.

The fact they list "Shia LaBouf" and "Megan Fox" instead of the voice actors for the actual Transformers means that they're more focused on the 2D human character story instead of the actual Transformers that the movie should focus on. It's called "Transformers" goddammit, don't reduce them to props for Special Effects and neat explosions.
I wonder if Micheal Bay understand this, even if he doesn't there's no exuse since the writers and producers are plenty experienced in character devellopment

Yes, they finally gave Megatron and Starscream personalities, and the effect shows IMMIEDIATELY! Both of them work far better in this movie and you actually get a sense of both purpose and villany. it was actually like seing the megatron from the series finally get on screen.. Starscream could still be a lot better though.
This movie was the shit, and it did well what the first one did wrong. Absolutely loved everything about it, and this was everything the first one should have been!

I understand that it was different from the cartoons MPC, but you should look at it through the eyes of the non transformer fans. This was a way to introduce people to the concept, and the onyl way to do that is to have human characters that we can relate to. I loved the first one, its a good summer flick.

You hit it on the nail TMPC. Transformers was way too focused on the humans and their struggles. There was such a lack of actual Transformer action, the movie was pathetic. And whatever was there was a real blur and not really entertaining. I thought the last fight between Megatron and Optimus was going to be epic, but it was just Optimus being thrown around.

Watching the first movie, I found nice visuals as everyone else did, but I couldn't pinpoint the other negative elements because, quite simply, I had no idea what the Transformers were until relatively recently (before the 2007 movie, of course). So I had no idea what to expect, really. And it wasn't until about a year or so later that I actually watched some of the cartoon on youtube.

Flaws in this film.
- Too many sexual gestures.
- They don't introduce new Autobots/Decepticons properly.
- Soundwave doesn't even fight anyone.
- Soundwave looks like Megatron.
- Anything small that is a robot or a dog humps something every 30 minutes in the film.

Revenge of the Fallen is not a rip-off of Star Wars.
The Fallen is the name of an actual character, originally created in the Transformers Comics as one of the first 13 Transformers, and one of the few who turned against Primus and became the first Decepticon.
In the new movie, the Fallen is depicted as an ultimate evil who was trapped in another dimension, and communicated with Megatron, inspiring him to form the Decepticons. 'Revenge' is the perfect term for an ultimate evil returning.
