I always consider Beyond the Time to represent the second half of SRW @3. The Nu Gundam's theme switches from "CCA Main theme" to this after things take a turn for the worse a little after the halfway point. I believe this coincides with your first chance to get the HWS pack for the Nu Gundam as well.
@Omnicrom No, CCA main theme is assigned to the original Nu Gundam, while Beyond the time assigned to Hi-Nu, check other SRW game with hi-nu you will know what i mean.

Probably my favorite theme for Amuro fightin'. No idea why, it's just so calm and composed. It suits his post-counterattack SRW personality perfectly. He's a man who knows exactly who he is and what he's fighting for, and doesn't bother glorifying it.

Most of what I know about what happens in the novel comes from playing SRW games. Still, maybe I'm wrong and there is an adapted version of the novel. I wasn;t looking for it anyway, not around where I'm from.
@Izumabakumatsu You're not missing anything. IIRC Beltorchika's Children is the exact same thing as Char's Counterattack with minor differences being that both Char and Amuro are KIA + Beltorchika being pregnant with Amuro's child.

I Second that motion, and add in.... Gerrod Ran from Gundam X. The guy holds a colony hostage just to get his girlfriend (also taken hostage if im not mistaken) back.... if that aint epic, I dont know what is.
Same with Char's Descendant, Uso, from Victory Gundam. He is, however, Char's opposite. He attacts Older Women, rather then Younger Girls.

@Azureman012 You're probably right. Kamille, Judau and Usso showed the raw talent but Seabook/Kincaido (ARRRRR) had enough experience which might put him on par with these two.
@lithuanianpsycho If I recall correctly, Judau appeared in the Crossbone Gundam manga as Grey Stork after Kincaid left the Crossbone Vanguard. He's probably gotten enough experience by then, having apparently lived on Jupiter for some time. Also, in the same chapter, Tobia and Judau had to fight a copy of Amuro's battle data, and the duo were barely equal to him in the Mobile Armor they put the data in.
Also, what is up with people uploading SRW themes recently? I am not bothered at all, since the SRW series has some excellent music. However, I find it a bit scary that songs that I want are uploaded not long before or after I grow the desire to find them. o.o

I think at the very least, Amuro and Char are the base against which all other pilots are compared.
They certainly had the best rivalry out of any anime I've seen, though.
