Many women look like and live as women yet have a Y chromosome, so are genetically male. These people aren't necessarily outwardly intersex either.
Unless she has had a genetic test done to prove otherwise, she could have the double X chromosomes to be female, but a Y chromosome giving a male appearance. It is not always XX or XY.

@TecaLepore Not always, there are many people born XXY, XXXY, XYY, .etc. There are infact many many combinations and "genders" when it comes to genetics. Many women look like and live as women yet have a Y chromosome, so are genetically male. These people aren't necessarily outwardly intersex either.
Unless she has had a genetic test done to prove otherwise, she could have the double X chromosomes to be female, but a Y chromosome giving a male appearance. It is not always XX or XY.
