His concept is great. Fighting under real stress with many different moves to give you security. If I guy pulls a gun on me at close distance this could work. But a knife swinging thug is another. In krav they teach to block and strike at the same time. I believe you should take off a jacket or something and fight like mad until you can escape a knife attack
With respect, I don't believe that any man can do things like this on older age + for me what is he doing it doesn't look so offensive, good technique for a guy on 18-40 age maybe but not for older age. What do you think? I believe aikido has better principle on this point (not use the force), because from a guy on 70 age you cannot expect to break something with a punch, or to have such a good reaction that the attacker cannot react even if he's much younger. NOTE : I don't want toInsult any1
@ozdranis akido is worthless in a fight it has no strikes and only works if the guy ur fighting is standing still. akido is a much watered down verson of akijujistu
@ozdranis I understand your point and do agree with it. Once a person is in their older age, their reaction time is far slower and their hits are far weaker. However what you should notice from these videos is that following the punch, there is always a knee to the groin. You can be 80 and still hit someone in the groin to hurt, no? The punch isn't always about breaking but mostly about stunning them and causing some pain. Point is, you can still be fit even up in your 70s, it depends on you!
@jackarf1 aikido, krav maga, MMA, kungfu whatever, i doubt a 80 year old who has trained his whole life would have good chances against a young attacker whos in good shape. but ofc an old master would have a much better chance than a normal 80 year old
but it can be done probably. if u train smart and keep in good shape. randy couture is 47-48 and hes fighting the best in UFC for example. he could probably be a mean 80year old if he keeps training smart
@MuayThaiViking Really?? That’s definitely an individual thing. I’m almost 60, and still bench press 465 pounds. I’m certified to teach three different martial arts (BJJ, Wing Chun, and Jeet Kune do) . On Family night, we take TKD (I’m a blue belt in TKD) , and in spite of my ‘advanced’ age, nobody in our dojo is willing to spar with me. I have no doubt that Imi was simply taking it easy on his younger ‘attacker’ because you don’t injure your students just to make a point… or a video.
daymn! thats one badass old man (i know i know he founded krav maga and all, pretty cool, its amazing he can do that at such an "advanced" age, he died in '93 i think, i konw hes dead but was it '92? dunno)
@myid9876543 I'm not trying to fight, he died in 1998! =(, I remember the ceremony of his 100th birthday last year, in Israel, I am a Krav Maga instructor myself in Israel!
Wait a minute...the stuff I learn in my Krav Maga classes doesn't completely match what the old master does...
