Esse vale tudo aconteceu, porque tinha um cara da luta livre que enfiou a porrada em um cara de jj e depois esse cara do jj juntou uma galera e pegou o cara da luta livre na covardia. A galera da luta livre juntou uma cabeçada e partiram partiram pra porrada com os caras do jj. Depois os caras do jj partiram pra academia dos caras da luta livre. Eles selaram uma trégua, para a realização do vale tudo. O Renan Pitanguy, foi tão espancado que precisou fazer plastica com o tio Ivo Pitanguy

Essa luta, se não em engano surgiu depois de uma crocodilagem que fizeram com um cara do jiu-jitsu e a galera invadiu uma academia em Laranjeiras, foi espancamento..daí a coisa ficou braba e armaram esse vale-tudo no Maracananzinho!

It amazes me how Rorion lied for years saying the Gracie camp was undefeated.Yet here it is 1984 and a Gracie fighter was destroyed by a Luta Livre Fighter.Rorion even lied and said that the Freestyle or Luta Livre representatives studied a little Jiu Jitsu in his Gracie in Action DVDs.Luta Livre is similar yet different.They used a little more striking and no gi.

@muitobonito113 i dont know if luta lvre was actually no gi bjj or was it olympic wrestling and judo no gi and possibly catch wrestling.Anyway,renan was owned here but the clain by rorion probably related to the family members,not students.However,it was still lies seeing that several of helios brothers had lost in addition to himself against santana and kimura.There were also many draws where the gracies were neutralised.

@scarred10 I am actually friends with a few Luta Livre Masters and Practitioners.Luta Livre is basically a mixture of good Catchwrestling and Judo with a little Jiu Jitsu.Luta Livre Esportiva is the competition form with no strikes.Luta Livre Vale Tudo is when you add the element of striking to it.Luta Livre has never used a gi.It is a great system but Jiu Jitsu just has more schools so therefore more people to practice with adding more versatility at times due to more sparring and partners.

@muitobonito113 interesting,i idnt realise there was any catch wrestling in brazil in the 1930s when luta livre began.Also the judo at the time would have been exactly what the gracies learned from maeda since there were only a handful of judo masters there at the time.

@billysue2 The main liar of the Gracies is Rorian.Carlson Gracie was a man of honour and was respectable but Rorian is a liar and a turd.He even lied on Carlson once on a TV show.That is why they were at odds until his death.Mestre Carlson respected the Luta Livre camp and later on even was in the corner of Hugo Duarte one of Luta Livres better fighters once.Both arts are great in their own rights.I think that Jiu Jitsu does need to leave the gi in the past though/

O grande responsável pela derrota do Renan Pitanguy foi o sr. Hélio Gracie, que estupidamente obrigou o Renan a lutar de kimono, tornando-se uma presa fácil para o Eugênio Tadeu. Num calor de 46º, em cinco investidas mal sucedias, o gás do Renan Tinha ido pro espaço, contra um Eugênio bombado até os ossos. No segundo assalto, o Renan voltou sem kimono, mas já estava liquidado.
