Cathy Freeman is obviously a very shy person. Look at her body language. Even the photo at :33 with Andre Agassi and Steffi Graff, her arms are folded and shes hiding her fingers. Also, she is not a trained professional commentator (presenter). She is just having a conversation. I actually learned a lot from what she said. I commend her for coming out of her shell to do this long interview.
